I just found out my twin apparently now hearts Carmelo Anthony ??? and it got me thinking about my own shameful love for Bruce Bowen. I know he's full of shady tricks but he looks like he could easily be one of thse cartoon villains and he's just so entertaining to watch when he's not playing your team. Scratch that even then. I confess I loved that block and the jumper last week.

So I put it to you Celtics fans. Who are you secretly liking? (or not hating?) Varejao, Vujacic, Mikki Moore?  ;D Let it all out.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

That's easy....Craig Smith. I've been a huge Craig Smith fan ever since his freshman year at BC when Uka Agbai broke a bone in his neck early in the year and Smith came out of nowhere to take his spot and almost propel BC into the tourney with a late season surge. I followed and watched his career there extensively and have watched him from afar here in Boston during his pro career.

Big Baby wouldn't hurt his cause to take a few pointers on getting into the type of shape Smith is in because I think Baby has better skills while having similar body types. His 17 or so PER shows that he can be a very effective and efficient player and he's the type of kid I would definitely want coming off my bench.

Dirk. His offensive arsenal is just awesome for a 7 footer. I also tend to take another guy's side when people are bashing him (undeservedly) and they were all calling him soft and said he chokes in the big moments, but this guy comes through a lot for that Dallas team. Should've won a title with them.

Good question, and ooh, there are plenty, just a few off the top of my head...

-Agree that I love Bowen (though I wanted to kill him while he was holding our swingmen on Friday).  He could play for me any day.
-Rip Hamilton: right there with Ray as the best in the game at moving without the ball.
-Courtney Lee: just plays smart basketball.  Nice shooter, too.

Rashad McCants.  It is the most random thing, but the Wolves had gone SO long without an impact #1 pick that when they picked McCants I really wanted him to be good.  I read all his scouting reports from college, got in internet arguments over him, talked to my best friend (huge Carolina fan) about him, talked to a random NBA assistant coach about him, and just talked myself into becoming a fan.  His game has never come close to being what I had hoped, and now neither he nor KG are even ON Minnesota anymore, but I still find myself pulling for him.

Danny Grainger-

Had his head smashed to the floor, his front teeth pulverized, and just kept playing. I mean, he's almost as tough as J.D. Drew  ;D

Gotta love D West too.

Oh...  I thought you said which player do I secretly *loathe*...  In terms of players I like watching (and might not be expected), I like Wade, Shaq, and Lebron.  Big Al, of course, is my favorite, but he doesn't necessarily fit into the "secretly" category, since most of us are quite open in our admiration for him.

Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, Danny Granger.  Marvin Williams too, I suppose.

Granger, Roy, and Gay are all too close to home for the same reason that I like McCants...they ALL could (should!) have been Wolves picks.  Especially Granger and Roy.  I know if you re-write history you never know what would happen, but to add Granger and Roy in consecutive drafts around KG...

Of course, had that happened KG is probably still in Minnesota and maybe none of us would have ever had the chance to get into a full championship celebration like last season, so the pain is definitely a lot less than it was at this time 2 years ago... ;D
