he ran full speed into lewis shooting a three. it was TA bad x100.

Bailed out Orlando of a huge scoring drought fouling an off-balance Lewis 3 pt shot due to closing out completely out of control. Somehow killed the momentum we were gaining.

Ouch. Tough to blame the newness of learning the Celtics defense on that one.
Crownsy you probably didn't mean it to be funny but I had to laugh (hysterically I think) at that comment. I might have to be taken away in a straitjacket if I see TA and Moore on the court at the same time in the playoffs. I'm already twitching uncontrollably as it is when either of them is out there.

Yep, agreed with bree.  Crownsy, your "TA bad x 100" comment simultaneously fantastic and quite sobering.

Well, look at it this way. Once Powe is back and Leon and KG and Perk and Baby are at full strength, about the only time we are going to see MKoore during the post season is to come into the game and foul someone. And we all know he's getting plenty of practice at that!

Remember, I believe he was brought in here for one reason and one reason only, that being to have a large body to stick in there while KG recuperated overplay and wear out Powe, Baby and Perk and Pierce. And it's been a good strategy. KG is able to come back at a slow pace, Perk's minutes only increased to about 33 minutes per when he might have had to have played 40 otherwise, Moore has been there, luckily, during unexpected injuries to Powe and BVaby and lastly, Pierce's minutes are down almost 4 minutes per game this month as compared to last month.

He's a bad player, but, he's better than what we had and has had a bright moment or four. He won't be seeing time during the playoffs and has kept other players minutes down. All in all, a successful pickup. There's no way with KG out the amount of time the Celtics knew he was going to be out that the Celtics would have had any better of a record without Moore and even if we somehow got Joe Smith(pure pipedream there), there's still no way we would have gone 13-2 since KG went down. Incidentally, even with a 13-2 record over the last 15 games, we would still be a game out in the loss column.

I don't think we would have gone 13-2, but would have definitely won more games with Smith.  Smith actually makes an impact and there have been games where the Celtics would have won if they had just gotten something decent out of Moore.  That being said, I do know that there was no way we were getting Smith.  It just sucks that we are stuck with Moore and didn't go after someone better at the beginning of the season.

Make that three. I'm not sure we'll ever be able to survive having Tony and Moore on the floor at the same time. A mental power play of sorts for the opposition, a five-on-three.

Yeah, it does, doesn't it?

It'll be interesting this summer to see if Danny and Wyc learned anything last summer.

We've heard it a million times but Chris Andersen would have been perfect prior to the season.  And as far as deadline pickups go, I really wish Ainge knew Gooden was going to be released because while everybody talks about Smith, Gooden would be as valuable.

while watching the game last night i just got more and more frustrated watching Moore.  By the end of the game i wanted to log in here and just totally blast the guy...but i was too tired.  This guy is just plain awful....AWFUL!  No defense...soft...fouls 24/7...afraid to shoot.  the list is endless.

SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!

Seriously...  I've never seen a guy foul like Moore does.  Not only does he commit a lot of fouls, but he commits a lot of stupid fouls, at terrible times.  I can't remember a guy 7 feet tall that was this poor on the defensive end.  Give me Kandi or Blount any day.

(And yes, there's a slight amount of hyperbole here.  There's a lot to be frustrated about, though, and Moore's stupid foul turned out to be the difference in tonight's game.)

What did he do wrong with that foul? Not trying to fan the flames here I didn't watch the game. It sad really that I checked the boxscore and was impressed he only had 4 fouls.

He was stretched out up on his shooting hand. You make it sound like the guy just bowled him over. Yes we all know that you don't foul th three point shooter, but bigs make this play and commit this foul almost every game. Where was everyone up in arms the other day when BBD did the exact same thing?!

Sorry Crownsy, but I am going to have to disagree with you on this one. I agree that the guy is limited in what he brings to the table, but he isn't an awful player. He is a 10th to 11th slot player. He shoots the open 18 footer at a solid pace. He hustles. He doesn't give up the layups. How many times last night did you see the other players not even make an attempt to rotate out on the three point shot. As they said in the broadcast we could have easily been down 20+ since they were taking unguarded threes. Before you start ripping Moore who is at least putting an effort in out there, especially when he was trying to guard a beast of a player in Howard, take some time to rip the guys who didn't even make an attempt to rotate. This loss can be blamed on a lot of guys more deserving than Mikki.

My only question is why do you limit yourself to defense and big men. I think he might just be one of the worst players in the NBA period. Granted his defense is awful, but he appears to alway be out of place on the offense end. He can not box out to save his life, granted Howard is strong, but Pierce managed to box him out. He can't even finish a dunk. He is awful, awful, awful.

While I still have a lot of hope for Marbury and think that he will be useful in the playoffs, I don't feel the same way with Mikki. He is just a foul machine and gets pushed around way too easily on the defensive glass. I hope that Doc doesn't play Mikki ahead of Powe/Big Baby because of his "length" and jumpshot. His length doesn't give us anything and the shooting big man is better filled by Big Baby. Mikki should be only used in blowouts and emergency situations once the team gets healthy.

I thought Scal was the worst player in the NBA... That's an awfully strong comment considering some of the scrubs out there. You neglected to comment on the foul committed on that play. Even the announcers were commenting on that fact. Howard missed a dunk earlier in the game when Perkins hammered him as well. Should we now say that Howard can't even finish a dunk?!

The guy got 21 boards mostly against the first team. If you are pointing fingers you really ought to point fingers at the whole team. The guy only played 11 minutes... No one however is going to have much success against Howard on the glass.

The thing that bothers me the most is when Moore has rebounding position and someone else grabs the ball like Moore isn't even there.  I don't like wimpy big men!

Moore is a much worse basketball player than I thought he was.
