The last few games with KG having very strict, scripted minutes have been an interesting phenomenon.  It goes against the grain of what we're used to seeing in an NBA game.  Especially unique, has been the flurry of KG activity when the team and he know his time is nearly up.  It reminds of the last minute of a boxing match when a guy knows he needs a knockout for a win.

I can't really think of another analogy, but the flourish of activity right before his exit has been interesting to watch.

It's made for some entertaining hoops from KG in a low-risk format.  So far so good.  The Celts and KG have maxed out on the allotted time.

I'm ready for more KG though!
Yup

This makes me very excited/confident in my earlier predictions. Not only will his intensity still be up if he's not in a starting role, but i see him winning a 6th man of the year before his retiring from the Celtics.

  • The good ole days.
Another analogy would be the last 15-30 minutes before the stock market's close I suppose.  A flurry of trading goes on... especially on Friday.

It's interesting indeed. But like you, I'm ready for more.

I always imagined Paul to do that, honestly. I don't think we'll be bad enough with KG (ever) to have a good enough pick to get a player who could take his starting spot, even in old age.
