I think, from what I heard, both teams said no because Powe wasn't going to be put into the deal. And I honestly don't blame Danny for not trading all those contracts along with two or three bigs. We wouldn't last long at all in the playoffs.

But if it was just Tony, Scal, Davis and a filler or something it was silly to pass up. Hopefully we'll be able to get him this summer or at the trade deadline next year with Scal and Tony's contracts plus fillers.
It's a vague memory but I think your correct, the bartering chip was Powe, SAC wanted him pretty bad (I can't remember if he tried offering BBD instead). Danny said no way and the trade fell through.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

First of all, I'd like to say that judging players from their country of origin has nothing to do with sport. I never really see if a certain team has players from this or that country, from this or that culture...plus, i don't really see the way that can affect a team negatively.

To take an example, I believe a certain team like the former champions the San Antonio Spurs have a French all star and a Future Hall of famer coming from the Virgin Islands in their starting line-up.

But the point of this article is Nocioni. I am sure Danny wanted him on this team because of his talent and also because of his willingness to play tough. He is a perfect sixth man, he plays hard defense and can shoot the ball quite well. The only problem is his salary. I don't know if we can afford him with our contracts situation
