  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Canadian liquor stores have the worst beer selection...well, at least the ones in Ontario. All commercial brands...hardly anything from the micro-breweries.

Canadian beer is strange. I grew up in the border with canada, so a lot of my formative late teens were spent wandering the streets of Brockville with a chalked drivers license in my pocket and a head full of dreams.

Rickard's Red, Alexander Keith's IPA..those were my favorites..but after trying a bunch of microbrews in the states since then, and the buyouts of Rickard's and Alexander Keith's, I've lost my taste for them.

I used to like Rickard's Red and White..but not so much anymore. Molson beers are probably one of the worst, imo. Every once in a while the LCBO stores here will carry European microbrews...some of the best beer I've had. Infact, I think, even European commercial brands are better than the American/Canadian commercial brands we get in Ontario.

Even Sleeman's got bought out. I dunno what the state of microbrewing and homebrewing is in Canada, but it doesn't sound great.

Does this mean the "check in here when you're sober again" thread has to be changed to something like "Left the bar"?

hahaha..."You wake up with your laptop at your feet, a splitting headache, still-sticky hands from the boneless buffalo wings you ordered last night, and a series of embarrassing posts about your love for Glen Davis that you put up at 3am? Well it sounds like you're looking for the "CB Walk of Shame".

Yeah, OK!  "My fingers are sticky from those [dang] chicken wings!  Chicken wings!  And that's blue cheese inside that crusty old sock, I swear!"

Sadly, when giving the choice these days between overspending on food or overspending on booze, I choose food.  I engorged myself last night, but on food rather than drink.

Does anyone else hate Amateur night in Boston?

Anyways, I enjoyed a couple glasses of Guinness while watching the Bruins continue to alienate their fan base last night...and once again asked myself why I don't drink Guinness more often.  It is just unmatched.
