I am sure the daily dime is a stop everyone on the board makes in the mornings, just thought I would throw the link up there to make life easier.

Nice to see an "expert" making some bold statements about the C's.... "still the best team", "most mentally tough"...

I love Legler.  Wasn't he the only analyst who picked the C's in last years finals?  If I listen to anybody...it's him!

Legler is good, and he's saying what I've been saying all along. We have what the others don't, an arsenal that'd unbeatable when available and the defensive mindset that's crucial to winning championships. Add to it championship experience and we've got to be the favorites.

yep, i remeber the other talking heads laughing at him when he did. They asked him how he could pick against the lakers, and he said something to the effect of "defense wins games in the NBA, historicaly good defenses paired with an efficent offense win championships."

I still think we will hold on to the #2 seed.  We have the tie-breaker with the Magic, and if KG is back tonight, he should have shaken the rust off by the time the two teams meet next Wednesday in Orlando.

I worry about the chemistry and everybody being on the same page that's why i think it's important to have these guys back and playing together a few games before the playoffs begin.  it's been a while since the entire team was healthy and playing together.

I would love to see Pierce get the MVP.  It will never happen, he is not flashy enough, and not selfish enough to talk about it.

Thats interesting. I haven't seen one analyst that wasn't a Celtics analyst say that Paul Pierce should be mentioned when talking about MVP candidates all year long.

Obviously, he won't get it. I love Pierce, and have been a fan of his since he joined the celts over 10 years ago, but I would definately say Kobe, Lebron, and Wade deserve this award more than he does (and I honestly think it should be hands down Lebron this year). Should he be mentioned in the talks, like Legler said? Yes, absolutely. He is a top player in this league. But whether or not he should get it is a whole different story.

Legler is one of the few television pundits who actually knows what he is talking about and uses his mind to form his opinions before just blurting stuff out.

I agree, esp if your barometer is "how screwed would his team be without him."  The Lakers and Celtics would suffer greatly to lose Kobe or Paul respectivly, but the Cavs wouldn't make the playoffs w/o Lebron.

Paul Pierce would be in the national MVP conversation if he was throwing powder in the air and posing theatrically on every play, he not showtime enough by nature, and that's what I like about him the most.  To Paul, the only thing that has ever been important is winning, for guys like Lebron and Kobe it's always been Legacy first, winning second...

I completely agree with everything you just said. I find it amazing that these guys (Lebron, Kobe, Wade, etc.) get so much more attention than a player like Pierce, who has been consistently one of the best players in the league, year in and out. And there you said it, its all about putting on a show in the NBA nowadays. Pierce, partly due to his lack of athleticism, is not the type that will fill the seats of oppononet crowds and put on a show of windmill dunks and and alley oops. Rather, he is the type that plays efficiently every game, and plays to his advantages (size, shot, strength, iq). If its worth anything, though, I think the show he put on wednesday in the fourth quarter was a lot better than any dunk or alley oop.

of espn 10 "experts", legler was the only one who picked the c's. abbott (LAL in 5), adande (LAL in 6) broussard (LAL in 7), ford (LAL in 6), hollinger (LAL in 6), Rose (LAL in 7) Sheridan (LAL in 6) stein (LAL in 5) and thorpe (LAL in 6).

i still have the photo of their picks on my hard driver.....just too sweet for me to ever delete that.

That is priceless.  Good thing their predictions don't affect their job status.  We'd have a lot of new faces on the network this year.  Abbott and Stein calling for LA in 5.   ;D

haha, I think some (or most) of us wouldn't mind that.
