This thread was suppose to be postive, haha. I don't know about you guys but I dont give the celtics nicknames i would give someone on the hated lakers or cavs. Mikki may play weak like blount at times, but he works hard and wants to win. He is what we all thought he was, a third or fourth string center.

How about "Exactly what this team needed". He brings heart. He hustles to no end. He can knock down the outside jumper. He is shooting 55% from the floor and only takes good shots. He has been averaging almost 4 boards a game since he got here in 17 min which is very solid. He has really turned it on recently trying to crash the boards which is where he is picking up some of these fouls. Every team needs a designated foul guy to prevent layups and easy baskets.

His numbers are very comparable to Joe Smith's and this allows us to not have to feel like we have to reduce BBD and Powe's minutes,  which will let us better see which one we want to sign first this offseason. Mikki is EXACTLY what this team needed, fouls and all.

except for blocks and rebounds, which he's awful at. And his fouls per minute, which is staggering.

I think mikki has a role in this team, but he's not anywhere near joe smith.

I actually think he'll help us once he understands our defense.  He's a good hustle guy and has length.  I think the plan is to have him mirror what KG does on defense, obviously... use his length and relative quickness to run around, rotate and cause problems for other teams trying to score.  But they've talked about what an adjustment that is.  Mikki has never played on a team that plays this kind of defense.  We don't play man-on-man defense... basically he has to guard everyone on the court and constantly rotate.  A lot of his fouls are a result of trying to to get use to this system.

But my main observation of Mikki is that he appears to have terrible hands.  Blount-esque at catching passes.

I think his lack of strength leads to some fouls.  Sometimes it seems like he tries to run next to an offensive player or take an angle that will lead to the least amount of contact.  Not sure if that will change at his age and his weight.
