As far as PLAYERS, did the 1977 Blazers have anyone else other than Walton?

As far as PERSONS, Dick Bavetta in 2002 (technically that was the conference finals but everyone knew that series would determine the championship).
Maurice Lucas definitely qualifies as a somebody. Walton wasn't alone that year he had a bunch of good players. I think the 78 Bullets qualify better than Walton's group and the 1979 Sonics had DJ, Gus Williams and Jack Sikma but I wouldn't exactly call any of them unbelievably all time great players(though I think DJ should be a HOFer).

Thanks.  That was a little bit before my time.

I still think Hakeem's first Rockets team is the best example of this.  None of the all-stars on Duncan's team were in their prime, but he was still playing with three former or future all-stars (Robinson, Manu, Parker) and another future 20 point per game scorer (Jackson).

The guys on Hakeem's Rockets team made one All-star game, ever, ten years after that title team.  That one all-star (Sam Cassell) averaged around 7 ppg in the regular season and 9 ppg in the playoffs.  None of Hakeem's teammates ever averaged 20 points per game.  It was literally Hakeem and a bunch of role players, many of whom were mediocre at best.

Great memories.  Tony proved them all wrong!
Not to take us off topic, but my favorite Spurs title is probably the one in 1999, if only becuase of Phil Jackson's ridiculous comment that it deserved an asterisk next to it because it was a shortened season.  I suppose he wants an asterisk next to the Cs 2008 title since the Lakers didn't have Bynum.  :'(

I'm shocked he hasn't yet pulled that out from his bag of excuses. Maybe he has and we missed it? Why anyone wants a Lakers/Cavs series is beyond me. All the in-game and post-game whining (not to mention stat-padding and flopping galore) will just overshadow any basketball being played.
Perk can out-whine both teams in-game. Post-game, the Lakers do have a bunch of whiners, starting with Kobe. Not sure who the post-game whiner is supposed to be on the Cavs.

Forgive me if i've missed sarcasm, it's hard to pick up in text obviously, but the whining starts with this guy;

LOL. TP. He wasn't even first on my list but now that you mention it...
And I don't think Perk really whines that much. What he needs to work on is improve that hilariously unconvincing surprised innocence expression  ;D

Otis Thorpe was an All-Star in 1992 -- the Magic Johnson game.

For a question like this ... I don't think it matters whether players where past or future high level talents (San Antonio), only at what level they were performing at the season their team won the title.

I think the 1994 Rockets and 2003 Spurs have been the two best examples mentioned in this thread. I think Hakeem had the best secondary star in Thorpe, but that San Antonio had the better combination of 2nd/3rd/4th/5th/6th best players. Both are excellent examples of Championship teams being pulled by one incredible talent.

I love perk but he whines more than tim duncan. He has never commited a foul that he has agreed with either.

Yer Perk's a top-class whiner, at the start of the year he was easily on his way to an early suspension for too many techs.

Hakeem in 1994 is the best example. He had a one time all-star in Thorpe and a bunch of players who would be classified as role players (Cassell and Horry turned out pretty good though).

I know it probably wasn't serious but Mikan had Jim Pollard, Vern Mikkelson and Slater Martin.

Is there someone who's won a ring without at least another allstar on their team?

Off the top of my head:  Hakeem Olajuwon in '93-'94.

Otis, young sam, young horry, kenny the jet, couple other role players like mario elle, decent help.

Yea but perk was getting a tech for making a mean face. How many times have you seen lebron or kobe stright up disrespect the refs and not get a t?

for one they are stars, paul, ray and kevin grip and moan too with no T's called.

for another they don't complain about every foul, even ones where the bltantly club people. it gives you less respectablity when you do the "omg seriously!!!" perk dance and scrunchy face.

Rick Barry in 1974-75?

Jamaal Wilkes, ROY that year, made his first All-Star team a year later.

This was the first one that I thought of.  Barry carried that team, which no one expected to win a title.  Didnt Barry average over 40ppg during the playoffs that year?

I hate to brag, but I single handily carried my seventh grade team a championship.
