  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Apparently the Raptors are another team not happy with their green St. Patrick's day uniforms, especially since they have a shamrock logo, "eerily similar of the Celtics' trademark."

"Toronto's Patrick O'Bryant, who is half-Irish and played for the Celtics earlier this season, defended the threads.

"Everybody's saying it's the Celtics logo. It's just a clover, a symbol of Ireland," said O'Bryant. "It would be the same if they had Prehistoric Day and everybody in the NBA had a dinosaur on their jerseys."

I can't believe I never knew P. O'bryant is actually half Irish.

Here's the jersey:

it kind of annoys me, honestly.  I remember when we stunk and the Bulls dominated us while wearing Celtic green.  The Bulls uniform was almost identical to our "alternate" with the black letters.  The only difference was that "BOSTON" now said "BULLS".   Embarrassing...

They owned us.  The lowpoint of the season for me.

I wish we knew he was half Irish while he was here.  We havn't had too many Irish guys on the team lately.

  • The good ole days.
Anyone else think the league's ridiculous number of special or alternate jerseys as a ploy to generate more jersey sales is getting out of hand?

The occasional retro night is awesome, but having a new jersey for every holiday you can think of and 3 or 4 regular jerseys in each team's rotation is a little silly to me.

Scal said his Grandmother was adopted and thats where the name Scalabrine comes from, from his guess he's probably got some irish in him.

Brian O'Scally, thats his name for tomorrow.

I love this game.  It was so weird, that it was enjoyable.  I'm very interested to see if they do the same thing tomorrow night.  Maybe then we can have our revenge for them blowing us out in green.

TP for the info, Gandhi!

I always knew that Scal was a true Celtic!  ;)

On a side note: I´m not a big fan of too many alternate uniforms or even uniform changes. Just keep it oldschool baby! That´s why I love the Celtic tradition and all! And that´s also why I don´t like our own alternate jerseys that much. Even the addition of the shamrock on the back of our standard unis is a borderline case for me!

Sorry, another side note: Did anyone else notice that our team seems to be pretty superstitious with their road unis? Pretty much every time they lose a road game they switch to the other one! This habit was at least pretty obvious in last year´s playoffs with all the unnecessary road defeats.
But after the triumph in Detroit that brought us to the Finals (with our classic road unis, by the way!) they didn´t change it despite their loss in game 3! Can´t argue with that!  ;D

I think if the Wolves wore Kelly green on St.Patricks day, that would be hilarious.

I'm pretty sure we played them again last season and they wore green again and we won.  So technically we had our revenge.  But every year you're going to see the same stupid thing and every year you're going to see a new crop of fans who think it's the first time it's happened and I happen to hate it.  Let the Celtics play the Bulls on Christmas wearing Chicago Red.  It's freakin dumb.
