lets find a way to squeak past the magic and cavs and then we can start worrying about the lakers.

I agree 100%. Let's take care of business in the East before we start looking too far ahead.

I think Bynum will disrupt team chemistry. He also forces Odom back to the bench where he wasn't playing nearly at the level he is now. Either way, come playoff time, the Lakers are soft no matter who they have an that's why I'm not concerned at all. They can't defend the raw power that is Perk, KG, Powe, and BBD.

The Lakers probably play better without Bynum, so no, this doesn't scare me in the least.  As others have said, the bigger problem is Cleveland.

You know whats awesome about being a fan? Us looking ahead doesn't effect the game whatsoever.

In addition to echoing the many "I'll worry about it when we get to that point" sentiments on the board, I wish Bynum all the best in getting back to full strength.  Injuries aren't cool for anyone, and further, the possibility of a Lakers-Celts series with everyone at full strength is incredibly exciting to me (if we both can get there).

i'm sorry but if anyone thinks the lakers will be easier to beat WITH bynum is in complete denial. we think p.j. brown or joe smith makes us better but bynum makes l.a. weaker vs. us? ahahahaha. come on guys.

I dont understand why most but not all on this site are so worried about everyone else. We have reason to be confident, more so than other fans I believe. Other teams are looking at us as a sleeping giant with a broken foot knowing that its going to be healed by the playoffs. put it this way, if you were a fan of cleveland, would you feel so confident that Boston is ready to be taken down. I think I would be scared as hell of them. We may have dropped some games we shouldn't have, but remember we beat the Cavs while banged up and the refs for that matter. We saw that this team still has it as we all saw last time they met.

No Concern. We have to beat Cleveland first. If we're clicking against Cleveland, then we'll be ready to face anyone and anything.

i hear ya ,angryguy. i think the lakers will be a powerhouse especially with bynum but i really like the timing with kg. i really think this could be a good thing for us. sometimes it's good to be the underdog to get the whole "us against the world attitude." " nobody thought we could do it blah blah blah." i really think the team can get energized through this at just the right time. there will kg and marbury playin' together again, "feel good, put the past behind us," let's win to make up for lost time" mumbo jumbo. i think feel -good stuff like this will be a boost to our team.

Offensively, the Lakers are inferior with Bynum in the pivot. As much as I hate him, Gasol has been dynamite scoring and passing the ball.

Defensively however Bynum gives the Lakers a more dynamic frontcourt that can be really physical with our bigs.

Well see what kind of shape Mr Bynum is in. He hasnt been the model of fitnees to date in his career.

Add me to the "meh" list.

I'll worry about the Lakers when we get to them - which will be the issue.

The Lakers will have to get through the West to meet up with us.

Well Bynum is very good when he is in shape. IF, we were to match up with them, with all of our players, we could be in pretty good shape. M Moore on Gasol, KG on Odom, and Perk on Bynum, along with BBD and Leon. The M Moore thing is the big help. Gasol gets all the extra points because everyone leaves him alone. MM is tall enough to contest his shooting also. BUT, the C's will have work to get out of the East, and the Lakers have work to get out of the West. The Lakers have trouble with Portland for some reason, and a healthy SA, maybe even a healthy Utah...

sorry. mikki moore can not even begin to guard gasol. gasol will get whatever he wants including backing him down with his superior strength. yup. that's what i said. gasol and superior strength. i like mikki but  that's how weak he is .he's a bad defensive player.
