Bird got over 100 steals basically every season, and in 84 he had 98 blocks. So he was REALLY close.

and despite the defensive presence of the worm, he never had 100 of either.

if you have time look at the stats for MJ, Keem, and the Admiral. They're pretty ridiculous in regards to blocks/steals.

i was surprised that those two didn't do it, REALLY surprised that Rodman wasn't even close. Artest hasn't done it either.

i think part of the thing that made him such a good defender was that he played solid man defense and ball denial, not really gamble defense which is basically what steals/blocks are.
