For the first time since joining the Celtics, I saw a glimpse of the Stephon Marbury who baffled defenders for 13 seasons.  He was dribbling, driving, shooting, passing it was just great to see.  Given it was against the Grizzlies this game still builds Stephs confidence and he was finally able to show us that he can still do some of the things that made him a 3 time all star.  Hopefully the good play trickles over into the weekend.
The NBA..where "this whole sport is a business and the referees decide games and David Stern is a snake and is only in this for the money" happens.

I hate to be the one to spill the bad news, but Marbury has only been an all-star twice.

Very happy with what I saw from Marbury last night.  He's slowly coming around.  He's going to really help the Celtics in the playoffs.

what i like most about what i've seen....

Steph is starting to look like Steph.

Doc trusts Marbury enough that he feels comfortable without a member of the B3 in the second unit. hopefully this isn't just becuase of us being undermanned.

Steph starting to understand where his teammates like the ball

Got an assist on a Bill Walker dunk
   Pick and pop with Mikki
penetrating then dishing it off to Leon
penetrate then kick out to House on the wing

these will be there for him every night, and once BBD gets back he'll have that midrange pick&pop game with him.

I’ve been coming in early, working on my shot, working on my game - just trying to get to that point where I’m able to play at that level where I’m used to playing at.

this is what i'm liking most.

He's going to be night and day from Pruitt/House(as a pg) when he gets to 100%.  Great addition to the 2nd unit.  Now lets see if he can have 2 good games in a row.

gotta think that Ray Allen's routines are having an effect on Steph....I mean, how can you look at a guy that is a lock for the HOF, just won an NBA TItle still coming out and working on his stuff as hard as RA does and not say to yourself "I need to get to work."

heck, with the Cs, all he had to do is show up. i'm sure they got plenty of staff ready to work with him...and there must be an incredibly positive vibe at the facilities.

I'm so glad Steph finally had a good game. It'll do wonders for his confidence. Once he gets rolling, our whole bench will be better.

I think we'd all love to see Stephon get out of the box for good and really start making the teams we'll face in the post-season sweat a little.

i really like him thinking as a scorer when he's in at point guard. that's his game attack, drive and dish. i like hearing that doc is telling him to be himself.this is great. marbury will often be going against bench guys. i'm pretty excited about what he could do for us. i'm also impressed wit his quickness on defense. i was'nt sure he had it. still makes a mistake here and there but he should be good and ready by the playoffs(or ready enough). very exciting.

That has been a pleasant surprise. He's really trying to play D.

i hate to keep bringing posey up but we could have something that we had with him last year that we've been missing all season-another starting level talent. when we first go to the bench it was usually paul and 4 reserves or ray and four reserves. i was always thinking to myself, "ok we have to survive this little stint of minutes." now it's ray, steph and 3 guys or paul, steph and 3 guys. one of those other 3 is leon frickin powe. oh yeah, now we have eddie quick draw just burning to launch a dagger from the wing. only hole i see now is what mikki gives up defensively , but kg will help mikki out a lot ofcourse

You're over thinking this. Marbury is just getting back into playing ball. He's been away from the game for a long long time.

The Herald said the first two players at practice were Marbury and Powe.
