I read it on here last night...
I personally love the idea, as I live in Springfield, and think it would be great just to have a basketball team in the birthplace of the game. I'd like it to be an affiliate of the celtics, but I think it would be great for the city and the people of the city just to have this team here.

What you guys think? Should this team be affiliated with the celts, or are they going to keep their affiliation with the Portland team?

I think they'll stick with Portland.  Portland management has a lot of ties with the Celtics, and Celtics players / dancers were on hand to congratulate the city on being awarded a franchise.  The distance between Portland and Springfield isn't very different; they're both about 100 miles from Boston (although Springfield is a bit closer).

Assuming Harlem doesn't get a team, I expect Springfield will be aligned with either the Knicks or the Nets, if not both.  It makes sense to have a team from the northeast be represented there.
