I despise Stephon ME-bury and not because that he sux but because he is wearing the Jersey number of someone who is the ANTI-THESIS of him.   Yeah...Stephon has more talent(obviously) but he's a piece of crap, IMO.

And I still don't believe that Stephon could've just - out of the blue...err, green - picked *THAT* number without some "influence" (*cough*Ainge*cough*).   Somewhere out there, Toine is rooting for Starbury to fail and it looks like it's happening.

I know everyone in this thread is biased as heck, but you really think 6 assists, 4 points and 3 steals with no TO's is bad for 15 minutes last night huh?

you people are on pluto. If gabe or JR did that in 15 minutes, you would all have a joygasm.

he is a backup PG, if he gives us 5-6 assists a night, as he has been doing since friday, im very ok with him getting the 10-15 minutes a game backing up rondo he is currently getting.

i wonder if eddie feels the same way about the 3 wide open three's he got off steph last night, of which he nailed 2.

or rondo getting a nice assist on the break. or paul getting 2 easy baskets.

I'm sure they hate that he's on the team just as irrationaly as you guys  ::)

who put up 6 assists, 4 points and 3 steals in 15 minutes?

your right, he played longer than i thought he did. my mistake.

Marbury G 31:17 1-3 2-3 0-1 +2 1 ST) 2 AST)6 1 0 1 REB)2 PTS)4

my fault, im still very ok with 6 assists and 4 points out of a backup PG, and ill take the 2 rebs too..

but i forgot, he's a total failure unless he puts up all star numbers from 4 years ago right?  ::)

I know for some people he's got to be the most productive bench player making the minimum of all time to be succesful, but if i told you sam cassell, the seat he's taking, would give us 6/4/2/3 a night off the bench, you guys would have been estatic.

He's the 8th-9th man right now behind leon, baby and eddie when we were healthy. your telling me you think 6/4 average isn't decent for that spot? and that average is rising every game. If you can't see it, its on your own bias.

HE's never going to be starbury, luckly we dont need him to be. that second unit, when we have been able to get it on the floor an healthy, of him, eddie, pierce/ray, KG/powe/baby and perk is going to be a fine second unit for 5-12 minutes a game.

well he just finished his 10th game.  That's pretty much preseason, right?

He should have his legs at this point.  We'll see how he plays when KG comes back and stuff.

if he plays like he has the last 3 games, continues to pass rather than dribble the air out of the basketball, and keeps his mouth shut, he'll be fine in his role of 2nd gaurd of the bench.

Steph is starting to look better.  I'll credit his effor on D and for making some good passes.  The chemistry with House is also nice to see.

He does need to get the confidence back in his shooting though, he turned down several wide open looks last night.  Even if he misses, we need him to take those shots to keep the opposition honest.  Having a change of pace pg off our bench will be huge, we can't let teams guard him like they guard Rondo.

He is still a shadow of his former self, but is better now than he was a week ago.

maybe i'm just reading a bit too much into this but against miami he started....in 31 minutes of time he played ok defense, 4 pts, 6 assists
I like the 6 assists but the other things aren't impressive at all
i think it that amount of time eddie would score nearly 20 with 4 or so assists and play good hustle defense  and pruitt would play good defense 4 or so assists and 8 pts
I honestly thought marbury was a better shooter.  If he can't hit the outside shot to spread floor than his defense had better really pick up.

All I can say is give it time.  It's way too early to say anything for sure yet.  We may look back at this stretch two months from now as the stretch where Marbury got integrated into the system that allowed him to succeed come playoff time.

It sucks that we got hit with the injury bug and that we likely won't catch Cleveland; however, that's not Marbury's fault.  If he can play himself into something like his former self by playoff time, though, he could be the difference maker against Cleveland or LA.
