Being a keeper league waiver priority should just carry over.

I voted for option 6 (keep waiver priority and all players in draft)

However, I just thought about it, and I'd switch my vote to only the declared rookies being in the draft.  Being, if all the players were eligible for the draft then the waiver priority loses some of its value.

I think I allowed people to change their vote, if desired. Try it out, KWhit.

At this point, I think the best thing to do is to keep the status quo for this season.  That means only rookies in the draft, and waiver priority is re-set next year, with the best team getting #1.  That way, nobody can complain that the rules were changed in mid-stream.  It's the fairest solution.

For *next* season, I vote that the waiver priority carries over, and that all players be draft eligible that aren't on a roster.

I don't see anything where I can click to change my vote.  Do you know where it would be if available?

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
I'm voting for status quo, because I think that it's fair to everyone, and doesn't punish the good teams for operating well.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I vote open the draft to all available players.

That is what will help the middle of the road teams who are going to end up in the middle of the draft and the middle of the waiver.

I know one of the reasons I blew up the team I had was because it was stuck in the middle.

This is exactly the reason I think it should be done in the future; a deeper draft is a better draft.  However, out of fairness, I think status quo is the way to go; I don't think we can change rules 2/3 of the way through the season.

I would be fine with that as well.

Yeah, I would not support radical change at this point in the season, even if there were greater demand for it.

Next season is another matter. I hope to iron out some wrinkles before we start things up again (September, perhaps?), including finding new managers, devising greater disincentives for tanking, etc.

Are we going to remove the three lovely managers who havent logged in this year?  because, frankly, that is annoying.

Yep. I tried, unsuccessfully, to find a replacement for IronLion, who expressed his condolences to me about having to bow out during the first month of the season. The other two are personae non gratae, as far as I'm concerned.

I prefer no changes be made to the draft or to waiver priority in the coming off-season, or going ahead.

Changes I would be in favor of - locking rosters for the playoffs; and moving the trade deadline up one to two weeks. I'm more than happy to continue to wheel and deal and play the wire - I love to play the wire - but on principal, I prefer the idea of "dancing with the one who brought you," so to speak.

If we are going to make changes to the draft, now or in '10, what about awarding the 1st pick to the winner of the consolation bracket? Or possibly even assigning the top 3 picks that way (to 7th, 8th and 9th place)? It would make the post-season meaningful for more teams and award an also-ran but active manager instead of a checked-out GM.

P.S. Everybody ought to give Commissioner Lucky another TP for being a steady hand on the tiller.

Only if you want to chase managers away.

If you inherit a team not good enough to win in the regular season, not good enough to win any playoff contest, how are you ever going to improve in the near future?
