i'm new to the league --- by get this finished you mean the rookie draft?

I sent emails via the league page to everyone about a possible schedule of events leading into next year's season. Here was my initial thought:

July 1: confirmation of all GMs, offseason trading reopened (via Celticsblog)

early Sept: fantasy draft for rookies

late Sept: in-season trading open

early-mid Oct: team roster cuts made and team inputted into Yahoo!, free agents/waivers available

late October: season starts

How does Thurs, Sept 10 sound? 10 minutes a pick, starting at 12:30 Eastern. With 40 picks, we'll wrap up no later than around 7 PM.

[I'd do this a little earlier in the month, but I am going to be on vacation for a week starting on Sept 2, so the 10th is really the earliest conceivable time for me.]

For those of you in the points league, we'd do our rookie draft the next day (Friday, Sept 11). I'll post in that thread too.

I'm resurrecting this thread, just to draw attention to the poll results.

Next year, waiver priority will be determined by order of finish during the regular season (in other words, reverse order of draft), and the rookie draft pool will again be restricted to those players who have *declared* for the NBA draft.
