What happens in the fourth quarter when the refs have fouled Perk, Walker, House, Moore, and Powe out of the game?

The refs are calling the game tight, but I'm not sure that they're calling the game unfairly.  People ask for officials to call games "by the book", and when they do, people get upset that our guys are fouling out.

Are there fouls that were called that you disagreed with?  If not, I don't think it's fair to say that the "refs have fouled [players] out" -- it's the players who are fouling themselves out, in my opinion.

Are you serious??? I am all for them calling it by the book as long as the do it both ways. We have half our team in foul trouble (3 or more) a quarter in a half in.

Sure.  And the reason the refs called fouls on Mikki and Walker was because they fouled the players they were guarding, for instance.  Just because we commit a lot of fouls doesn't mean it's a conspiracy.  It's not like the calls -- especially the ones on Moore / Walker -- are phantom ones.

Just because we commit a lot of fouls doesn't mean they aren't committing any. O'Neal has hacked people a ton yet has one foul. Same with Maglore.

Celtics up by 5 at halftime!!!!     ;D

TP to Doc for establishing a system that is still effective even without 2 starters and 3 role players.

I think it's fair to say that they have fouled them out of the game when there seems to be one set of rules on one end and a completely different set of rules on the other. The Celtics had some fairly ticky tack fouls called against them early(Perks hand on the back, first foul, Moore's third, I think, on Wade shooting on a drive to the left, Walker's foul under the defensive board o the non tip in). Whereas O'Neal has had at least three fouls on shots not called, and Moon has been clutching and grabbing and manhandling Pierce all game.

Late to the party... the boxscore tells me we are the Sonics and this is 2005, valid assessment?

Great.  Your argument should be that the Heat players should be in foul trouble as well, then, not that the Celtics players shouldn't be.  For example, the reason Mikki Moore picked up four fouls in a quarter is because he's a horrible and undisciplined defender, not because of the refs.

I'm following on Gamecast in class and I see Marbury is 0/6 but with 4 dimes. How does he look running the offense? Is he still tentative?

Yeah the fouls on the Celtics is not usually the problem I have with the referees so much as the non-calls going the other teams way especially if the Celtics are picking up some ticky-tacky ones.

Was it a foul?  If it was, we can't complain if the refs call it.  Yes, they should call it evenly the other way, too, but the Celtics are breaking the rules and are getting called for it.

he has looked for his shot...looks a bit quicker and has had some success getting to the rim.....o'neal is playing just as physical inside and they haven't called much on him

First half review:

I just wanna give an overall TP to Leon Powe for getting a double-double (13-10) in the first half. Love his scrappiness (sp?).

Also, Bill Walker hasn't done bad either in only 7 minutes: 5 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound and even a steal. He had a +8 in those 7 minutes!

Well, Ray Allen had 18 minutes and Paul Pierce 20 minutes. I dunno whether to call that an improvement or not, at least on Pierce, but putting in Pruitt and Walker shows that Doc is trying, so I guess I can live with it for now.

No matter how you spin it, we've won every quarter so far. Let's keep it up, C's!

Pierce has been in stealth mode in the first half. Seems like he's saving himself for the fourth quarter. Paul Pierce is The Closer.
