per the Globe:

An NBA spokesman said today that Celtics forward Glen Davis will not be suspended after an assessed flagrant-2 foul for knocking down Cleveland's Anderson Varejao with 9:09 remaining in the third quarter on Friday night.

and he shouldn't have been tossed IMO

That's good news because a) he didn't deserve a suspension and b) we need all our bigs for Orlando.

Good news! :)

I thought he deserved the flagrant 2 and the ejection (even if he went for the block) but no further "punishment". And his presence will be needed against Orlando tomorrow!

As others have said, it shouldn't have even been an ejection.  This news shouldn't surprise us, but in today's NBA, you never know.

I would have penned a letter to David Stern if BBD was suspended.

{EDIT: And it wouldn't have been a letter lauding the decision....}

How are these hacks not being held responsible for the quality of their officiating?! Downgrading to a flagrant 1 means they ejected a player who should have stayed in the game. If the league decided this by reviewing the replay why couldn't the refs?

Exactly what I was thinking.  If we lost the game due to the refs throwing out a player on the wrong call, what punishment do they get?  I know, NONE! >:(

So, in hindsight, maybe it would have been better if he *was* suspended, huh?  :-\

You should be allowed to punch Anderson Varejeo in the sack and not be ejected as far as I'm concerned.  This would balance out his big hair shaking to exagerate a hit and his other flops.
