I think Wade deserves it, but the Powers That Be will likely give it to Lebron.

I only put those three on there because I think they're the only ones with a legit shot.

Wade had been tremendous.  He's done a lot more with less of a surrounding cast than the other two.
Yup

If LeBron didn't get in the past, why would Wade win it this season? If the Heat go 21-0 or something close to it for the rest of the schedule, then yeah, he deserves some serious consideration.

I vote James without a blink.

Lebron James. Imagine Cleveland without him. He's definitely the most valuable to his team.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

I say Wade.  He won't win it, but he's had the best season in the league this season, and he's lifting a pretty poor / mediocre into the top-five in the East.

Wade has been great all season, but he's been absolutely dominant in February and March.

As great as Wade is playing I can't say he's the MVP for the same reason I said Kobe shouldn't get it the two years Nash got it:  team success should be one of the factors (and I don't mean a middle/lower tier playoff team with him as opposed to a lottery team without).

I thought it was Lebron's to lose but I have this really, really bad feeling that if the Lakers finish with the best record the award might go to Kobe.  I don't think I'll be able to handle listening to the media next year talk about Kobe's quest to join one of the most exclusive NBA clubs and win three straight MVP's.  How many non-Laker games will Mark Jackson cover in which he goes out of his way to somehow bring up Kobe trying to be the first player since Bird to win three straight?

Even if Miami indeed wins all their games till the end of the regular season, I'm not sure why should Wade deserve the MVP more than James. For scoring 1 more point per game (or +0.4 points per 36minutes) less efficiently? For being a less efficient 3pt shooter and FT shooter? Because he averages more 0.6 assists per game? The half steal?

LeBron  is more efficient, rebounds better, doesn't turnover the ball so much and uses less possessions. Equally good defenders, but LeBron can defend big guys and leads a better defence.

But then again, once one factors team record, it's not even close. Otherwise, LeBron and Kobe are owed a few trophies.

d-wade would have to do something spectacular, like 40+pts 10+ast for at least 5 strait games.  and if he can some how propel mia to the 3 seed, then hed probly win mvp.  but the league has a hard-on for the king and will more likely give him the award.  [dang], those nash mvps throw everything off.  kobe lebron or cp3 coulda won it last yr but kobe was 1st in line cuz the league owed him 1 (at least) for that 35ppg season (the 81 game).
but here in boston, we're not about mvp awards (unless the words 'NBA Finals' preceed it).
it will still be an interesting race coming down the stretch

I don't know about that. When I read that I had a picture of Tim Duncan's "I can't believe that call" face. He'd have more than two in my opinion if you're just going by individual production. KG might have more than one himself.

I think Wade deserves it, but this award was decided before game 1.  LeBron will ultimately win the trophy.
do it

I think it's Lebron James hands down as he too has a young cast around him and is at the TOP of the standings as opposed to 3 games OUT of the playoff picture in the East a la Miami.

While I agree that LeBron has my vote - see cordobes' reasoning above for details (as I concur completely) - the Heat are sitting in fifth in the East.

In my opinion, Dwyane Wade is the MVP. I mean, the guy is just the living and playing definition of the expression "Most Valuable Player". He has been healthy during the whole season, he is putting up huge numbers, and his team is fifth in the East (and in the verge of jumping to the 4th place with the Hawks' consecutive losses)!

Moreover, his teammates are quite limited in terms of talent, and yet the Heat has been able to beat some big teams this season. That's why Wade is the real MVP, he's almost "perfect" in terms of individual talent and he involves his teammates perfectly, playing collective and for the win instead of just boosting his stats.

But I think that Kobe will win it this year, though he will be close with LeBron in the voting results. I regret that this award is now deeply linked with the MVP's team's record. Sure, thanks to this system, Kevin Durant can't be named MVP because of his team's record and it's logical, but I think that Wade definitely deserves this trophy because he's almost doing all the work in his team every night(whereas Kobe and LeBron have - at least - on All-Star in their roster) and he's getting the results.
