BBD played great, too bad Cleveland had 3 guys dressed in stripes on their side, yes he did foul varajao, but didn't deserve to be sent out....His shot was on, his inside game was on...he did great. If he stayed all night he probably would have had a career night...!

BBD's best play tonight was getting himself ejected.  Play of the game.

Well i too hate varajao......but he is good, maybe just good...why does everyone leave him alone....? I thought BBD was great on offense and D....but that is just my opinion...

Made Doc play Powe for big minutes; greatly helped our rebounding (limiting second chance points) and our post scoring/efficient scoring.

In the way that it made it so that BBD wasn't on the court anymore, allowing Powe to get a double double off the bench, and Moore to do his thing.

Well, it was great while it lasted.  That was a flagrant 1, not 2.  Anything to try to give the Cavs an advantage. ::)  Good thing it didn't work.

But Powe picked up the slack.  He was ballin tonight! 8) As a matter of fact, all the bigs had good games against the Cavs. The Cavs' interior defense sucks without Wallace.  This is a weakness the Celtics can exploit.

For full disclosure, I like Powe more than BBD.

However, I do think that the Cavs are a bad match for Davis. Defensively, he can't stay speedwise with any big except Ilgauskas, and Ilgauskas prefers to hang out outside and shoot anyways and he can just turn and shoot over Baby. Meanwhile, on offense, it doesn't matter who is guarding Davis because he can't really score in the post that well and will only score if he's left open at about 18 ft. by his defender, which is up to the team scheme. Powe, however, can stay with Verajao's energy and can really take advantage of Verejao and Ilgauskas in the post while Moore can use his length to actually bother Ilgauskas on defense. Just a tough match for Davis I think.

Eh...  I would have rather had BBD in there than Moore, based on the way the two were playing.  BBD played very well tonight, and Moore in my mind wasn't anything special on defense or the boards.  (Offensively, he had some big hoops.)

Yeah, they were such a bad matchup that he was dominating before he got tossed. ::)  All our bigs were really.  The Cavs interior D is weak, at least it was tonight.

I loved that he was guarding Wally for a while and punished them inside and on the boards for it. He played very well. Moore did okay but gave up too many rebounds and had some fouls that could have been avoided. He's good depth but in the playoffs he won't see much time unless there is foul trouble or a weird matchup.

Powe and Davis are just better at everything except the 18 ft jump shot. His dunk was impressive.

Did you read my full post? yeah, Davis was scoring well, but ALL of our bigs were. However, our other bigs were actually rebounding, limiting the Cavs to 1 and done and keeping the ball alive on offense.

I just don't understand how anyone can look at the work that Big Baby and Leon did tonight and be glad that one was on the floor over the other. They were both sensational tonight. Baby's energy and hustle set the tone underneath with Perkins to start the game and not one big on the Celtics didn't see it and do the same. The physical presenmce that Baby set with Perk early set the Celtics in the right direction to beating the Cavs and beating up the Cavs.

Baby's effort and hustle were responsible for at least one of Perk's offensive boards and one of Ray's defensive boards. He may not have been able to pull down the rebound because of the height and reach advantage Varejao had but he certainly made sure Varejao didn't get a bunch of rebounds that he propbably should have.

As for Leon, tonight might just have been his best overall game as a pro. his defense was great and he rotated smoothly and corectly all night. His work on the offensive boards were huge and again kept a lot of balls alive. Without Wallace Cleveland did not have an answer off the bench to contend with Leon inside. Smith just couldn't do it and usually Varejao plays against Leon but he has to start now.

Perk just dominated Big Z. The box score doesn't say enough for what a lack of inside presence Ilgauskas was in this game. Outside of 10 feet he was effective but inside 10 feet he was invisible.
