  • The good ole days.
I like the Vikings chances... I mean, they have a QB that can get him the ball in Randall Cunningham (34 TDs in only 14 starts last year), a coach that won't put up with TO's garbage in Dennis Green... this Moss kid is just a freak... Cris Carter is the ultimate leader and can mentor TO back to respectability.  A three receiver set of Moss out wide, Carter on the opposite sideline, and TO in the slot going across the middle or even lining up wide with Moss and forcing 4 to 5 defenders to focus on one area of the field out deep?  Man, Robert Smith would just go off!  I like this idea.

I'm putting myself out there to say that he ends up with the Chiefs. With newly acquired QB Cassel, they'll need an upgrade at WR and with both players being new, they can start a new friendship/chemistry. Not saying it works, but thats what could happen.

2 weeks ago or so, I thought about how NE could take care of the QB situation. I disagree with their decision to keep Brady. At this point in his career, whether he still is the greatest or not, Cassel was great for the team. And Brady still possessed greater trade value. I was hoping they'd trade Brady for a ton of talent and draft picks. Maybe I'll do it on Madden09/10

I don't know what you're smoking, but Tom Brady has been doing a superstar job for years while Cassel was doing a decent job for one season.  If we had a healthy Tom Brady last season, I can guarantee you that we'd get to the Conf. Finals.

Anyway, as for the Chiefs.  I don't know if Cassel and Owens would work either.  Casell worked because he had no pressure, things were simple, and if they want him to succeed, they have to keep the same formula.  I am glad that Bowe will finally have a chance to put up some big numbers though since he was doing great last season considering he had nobody to throw him the ball.

Why was I included in the original quote? lol.

Another point about the chiefs:  Todd Haley is their head coach and he didnt get along with TO when in Dallas.

this is obviously in jest...but the Vikings arent likely an option for TO.  Brad Childress and TO didnt get along in Philly.  Looks like TO has p---ed off guys just about everywhere.

For the record, I'm on the TO to NE bandwagon. Sign him now, I don't care what anyone else thinks.

The sad part about megatalent malcontent cancers like Owens, Iverson, Marbury, Ramirez, and Vick etc is that some idiotic GM will always throw a bunch of money at them in the hope that they'll get the talent without the cancer.  I don't know how a GM can't look and see that the teams they've been on are more productive without them than with them.

Some idiot GM will sign all of these guys so they'll never be held accountable.  Ramirez was the first.  Absurd.

1. I feel as though Allen Iverson does not deserve to be in this group. Other than the famous practice speech he hasn't been nearly as disruptive as the other premadonnas on this list.

2. It comes down to talent, even if they are cancers they are super talented (Vick is just fast not a good QB)and worth putting on your roster. IMO risk is worth any reward.

Iverson may be the poster boy for that list.  The ultimate coach killer and somebody who has never adjusted his game for the good of any team he's been on for more than a few games.  It's no coincidence that Denver is a much better team without him and Detroit is playing much better without him.

The best thing about him being out of Detroit's lineup, though, is that we aren't subjected to his incoherent pre/postgame babble.

----------------

The Chiefs are already talented enough with their position players offensively without wrecking their team by putting the narcissistic Owens anywhere near their team.  They need interior help on both sides of the ball.

Sorry for going off-topic on this, but how about picking up the other cowboy that was just released, Roy Williams (safety)?

I think he might fit our defense well as a hard hitting safety, since Rodney is probably gone.

He would be an awful fit.  I like the guy as a player, but the reason he didnt fit in Dallas was because he didnt like the 3-4 system Wade Philips was using (both Wade and Roy Williams have said this).

Since we use the 3-4 also, I find it hard to believe he will play here.  But we will probably get the chance to play against him twice a year (dolphins and Parcells).

I would rather spend our cap money on a defensive player.

Same here, we're one year removed from setting major offensive records. We don't need offensive players unless we're ready to replace Maroney. Reinforcing the CB corps is where I'd start.
