Leon eats kittens!?!?  As a member of PETA I could not be more outraged right now.  That guy needs to go!  I don't care how much salary we have to eat, or how much it hurts our chances at #18, cut that guy.

Same hours, but different pay based on the value provided to the employer. But most jobs don't work like picking blueberries - you get paid a salary and there's an expectation that you'll put in the necessary effort to deserve that salary.

I've got a buddy who works for an NBA team.  He told me that Ray Allen was there shooting jumpers 2 hours before any of the other players got there.  Does that make the rest of the players on the team besides RA unjustly paid?

I'd be ticked if I was paying a guy nearly a million bucks and he didn't bring his A game to the table every night.

So by that logic, everyone should give effort based on salary?

The other thing is that your hypothetical is rooted in selfishness. Whether your contribution is 1% or 70%, there's an expectation that you'll give the full 1% or 70%. If everyone who's contribution was 1% only gave half effort, then it would be like everyone give 1/2 of a percent. 1/2 percent across the board is 50%, which is a lot less than 100%.

That is also flawed thinking.  Everyone knows that underutilized personnel give less effort.  It is selfish, but true.

The prospect of bringing in Marbury shouldn't change anything. Pruitt is still under the obligation to be ready to play at anytime.

I realize he is under the obligation, as we all are.  We should all give 100%, but we don't.  We are all flawed in this regard (Which is why we spend countless hours commenting on blogs about a 20 something that had a few drinks with his buddies).

Im just stating the facts ChampKid! Like it or not, the fact you state you are not trying to be a jerk tells us you were in fact trying to be a jerk. And also dont act as if you never seen celebrities out far past 2 or 3a.m. in the morning doing whatever they choose. And definitely dont act like you never have done it yourself if you are above the age of 21 & try and ruin my credibility for being there. Please dont take up for a grown azz man which Gabe Pruitt is! He simply shoulda been in his hotel with his teammates at that point of the night/morning.

The DUI is one thing, but him staying out the night before is no big deal.  He knows he doesn't get a whole lot of burn.  He assumes that any time he does have is going to be taken by Marbury starting Friday.  The guy just probably wanted to go out and blow off some steam. 

I disagree with this reasoning.  Since Pruitt plays fewer minutes, he's justified in being less than fully prepared to play?  I would think that the fringe players in the rotation would be the ones *most* ready to get into a game.  Perhaps this is one reason why Pruitt consistently looks less focused on the court than other players on the team.

I was about to write a post saying how I disagreed with your view Roy, but after researching my own thought, now I agree more with Roy.

Af first I was going to say how I could understand being a scrub who stays out late, especially one who gets alot of DNP-CD's.  I was going to compare it to that teacher/professor who told you to always be ready for a quiz every class, but only occassionaly gave them, or the teacher who always assigned homework but only occassionaly collected it. Even if it's a class where it's critical you do good in, did you ever have one of those days when you thought the teacher probably won't collect the homework or give a quiz the next  class, so you chose to stay out late instead of completing the homework or studying?   But then I started looking at box scores and Pruitt hasn't gotten a DNP-CD in a while, he had been getting minutes every game so he needs to be ready.  I could understand it more if he was still getting DNP-CD's every game, it's hard to be 110% ready every game when there is only a 10% chance you'll play anyway.  But when you're getting minutes every game, and you're borderline NBA talent, you got to be ready every time because you only get so many chances to prove your worth.

And off course I think every time in college I thought my professor won't collect homework so I don't have to bother doing t, it seemed like the homework was always collected.

I don't know maybe I'm just still upset about hearing Leon eats kittens, I can't think straight now.

Drinking at a strip club past 5 am the night of the events occurring does blemish your credibility.  Isn't it possible that in the course of drinking and watching strippers that maybe your judgment was impaired and you identified the wrong person?  Your account as a witness would be scrutinized in court.

Besides, I always leave the strip club by 4 am. 

Additionally, my character isn't being called into question here, because I am not the one who is accusing someone else of unscrupulous behavior.  I am merely pointing out that you aren't exactly the best source here - and that what you say in no way impacts my opinion of Gabe.

I'm not much of a cat person.  I am quite a fan of Leon.  Sorry to my friends of PETA, but he is excused.  Cats must be lean meat, because my man Leon is ripped.

Right, just stating the facts myself, but not long after polishing off a case of Laser 40s ("the malt liquor so bad it made the news"), I stumbled into the woods and accidentally found where Ray Allen buries all his dead hookers.  Just reporting the facts as I saw them - don't question it, because that's how I remember it.

I'm definitely dissapointed in Gabe but I feel like the guy deserves a shot to get his act together and I am not ready to give up on him
