....regresses terribly. It's so obvious that KG makes Perk a good center. Without KG in the lineup Perk is totally useless. I hate to say it but it looks as if he hasn't a clue on offense or defense. Please KG hurry up back so you can get ya boy in the game!

KG clearly makes Perkins better. But he's still been defending well on most nights. The real problem is that he's picking up more fouls with KG gone. I think he's trying to do more with KG gone, especially as he's our only shot blocker.

Why do people always judge a player offensively? Perk is a defensive specialist. Perk is a nonstat allstar sorta like sean battier. The great thing about perk is the way he doesn't get out of his limitations. He knows his role & does it the best.

I repeat, Perk is useless without KG out there and that is on offense AND defense. KG controls who goes where in the paint on D. and without him, Perk just doesn't play smart defense. This worries me because he has been here long enough to know by now and he is supposed to be our C going into the future? KG will not be around as long as Perk will so he needs to start "getting it" soon. The stupid fouls, the ill advised screens, and a total lack of offensive game if he is not getting bunny passes from for layups from KG. I just think there should be more progress at this point from Perk.

That's my opinion.

and i'll continue to stick with it...i don't like perk at all.  i really believe danny needs to consider a long-term upgrade at the C position because perk is nothing more than a hacking backup.  he can't set picks without fouling (you'd think by now he'd get the hint)...he only has layups and a right-handed hook in his repertoire...and his scowling attitude won't curry him any favor with the refs.

i prefer him in short doses and think he's reached his potential NOW, and that's not a compliment.

  • Law mercy!
Perk missed some assignments tonight that are completely out of character.  I do believe that Garnett is the traffic cop on defense and keeps everyone rotating as they should.  Thibs yelling, while entertaining, is less effective.

Its an ill-informed opinion. Perk rebounded very hard and for the most part played good defense last night. Did he miss a few assignments? Sure, but so does KG. He was the only player who effectively guarded Zach Randolph.

I'm not sure what progress you want. It became pretty clear a while ago that Perk was a physical defensive center.

Perk had a bad game, as well as every other [dang] celtics player.
Perk still was our best defender in this game, and without him Zach Randolph wouldve gone for 60

KG is the director out there...He makes it all happen. Of course he opens things up for Perk....But why does Doc make perk go set those stupid high picks, now what percentage of his fouls are from the high pick, tell me...! Perk had 2 active big men to cover out there, where was M Moore....? Perk plays good, his D is good, he does drift out of the paint a little too much.......he should know that is a bait trick....he used it against Yao...! I say KG is the coach, not Doc, Doc just sits there...can't he ever talk to Perk....?
