haha I am loving this. There is no way Marbury is going to single handedly destroy everything this team has been about over the last few years and these Laker fans know it. A lot of fans on their blog are saying they want the Lakers to sign him just to keep him away from the C's.  Of course after we sign him they will cling to the delusional hope that Marbury is a cancer that will bring the C's down. I really hope we see these chumps in the finals , it's going to be sweet winning the championship on their floor this year.

Actually, in my mind the best thing about the Lakers thread is all the Sasha bashing that is going on  ;D.

The Celtics still have a hole, though.  Who backs up Pierce?
Celtics fan for life.

Walker is going to have to play about 5-10 mins a game while Scal is out. Other then Giddens we have no one to play SF and I think the coaching staff believes Walker is further along in his development.

Our new second unit of Marbury , House , Walker, Powe and Moore should be able to get out and run so Walker will have no trouble there. He is also a slasher which should fit in well with this unit once they get the chemistry together.

If Scal is out for the year I think we are more likely to see Ray sliding over to the 3 (like Doc has been doing already for 10mpg) and using a Rondo, House, Steff platoon for pg and sg.  Billy isn't getting any playoff minutes barring another injury, imo.

and btw, love that the Laker fans don't know which way to go on this pickup.

the thing that i don't love is that every casual fan is going to root against us cause of our new sideshow.  he better be good, because we just became the NBA's equivilent of the evil empire...

Adding two guys who can play is going to eat up a lot of minutes. With at least 4 guys free agents at the end of the year the competition should be fierce. This going to be a tough team  to beat.

Tony A. will backup Pierce, but this is a hole. Kobe plays the three now  for the Lakers and is thriving there. Also Odom presents a problem because of his style and height especially. So yes. small forward backup is a problem and not only that, I am not totally convinced that Moore is an adequate defensive presence against Paul Gassol if he nedds to do it. I am not sur Marbury plays enough defense either. We will see, but Marbury is an excellent point guard offensively. He certainly is light years ahead of Jordan Farmer and Sasha

Is Kobe also defending the 3?  Because he's never been able to defend Pierce.  Shoot, he even has trouble defending Ray.  Overrated defender is what I say!
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

Don't you remember,Bankshot. They put Kobe on Rondo and have him rome around, leaving Raj open for the jay if he dares to. Itt's on the other side of the ball. Pierce takes Kobe and if he leaves the game or gets into foul trouble, then we are in a pickle, esp.if TA is hurt or Odom begins to run wild. What a grin he has, Odom. Everytime he hits a good shot, the eyes light up and begin to dance, the tongue shoots out from the corner and he smirks a big, fat, ugly grin. I don't know to laugh at the guy or what. But what an idiot.

Seriously asking this, but the only real reason I can see to hate Luke Walton is that he is a Laker. That's reason enough, however why the hatred for the guy?! He seems to be a pretty down to earth likable guy who plays hard. Reasons?!

It doesn't matter because the Spurs are going to take out the Lakers.
