This, like The Wire, Deadwood, Sopranos, and OZ I think masterfully does what many shows now are trying desparately to accomplish but usually fail in. That is, it carries like 12 plot lines simultaneously, and effortlessly. No one story suffers for the existence of another. Ateia, Seviliia, Caesar, Anthony, Pompei, Brutus, Pullos, Varenus, Octavian, they all have their own thing going on, and dance beautifully between each other's lives. Rome does it particularly well, because there really are like 10-12 interweaving plots.
