I was flipping back and forth between TBS and Comcast for the whole 1st half of the C's/Jazz. At halftime, I keep it on Comcast (is this the redsox network or is NESN????)figuring that KG's potentially devastating injury would be immediately addressed. Instead those two mooks, Tanguay and Felger are talking about the dumb*** redsox. I understand that this is a baseball town.but give me a stinkin' break. It's ONLY spring training, no exhibition games have started yet and even apologists Tanguay and Felger admitted in an earlier Sports Tonight (tonight) that really nothing of major interest occurred in "Red Sox Nation" (how pretentious that phrase is) today. Yet the whole (except for literally two sentences) program was about spring training on a day when a lot of drama took place around our team's interests in the trade deadline, and we did make a couple of small moves to clear space. Anyway, I switched to TBS, and they showed KG on the court shooting at halftime. The relief I felt was quickly overcome by the anger I felt for our C's constantly playing third fiddle to both the the sox and pats. Gimme a break. We have the best record in the East and are entering a pivotal part of a season when we are defending a world championship and we are constantly upstaged by two teams who aren't even playing games at this time of year. Anybody else feel this way?

YES.....and i love the sox and every other boston team. But sometimes it's sickening how much they talk about the sox especailly when there is absolutely no news. WEEI will be talking about the sox during the celts play off run last year and it was really agitating...

yes, not to mention Dennis and Callahan talking about steroids non-stop every day for the last four years. Riveting!

TP for excellent use of the term "mooks," btw

It is frustrating being a Celtics fan in Boston with the media totally fixated on the Sox 365 days a year.  The last time WEEI talked Celtics was the day after they lost to the Lakers.  They didn't talk about them before the loss and haven't talked about them since. :-\  Why did the Celtics even sign a contract with WEEI?  They got more play when they were with 1510thezone.  They get nothing now, except the weekly interviews with Ainge and Doc and the second the interviews are over.... Red Sox talk! ::)

Yeah, WEEI has been driving me nuts, all they want to talk about is baseball in steroids...drives me frickn nuts, and then even every caller is calling about......baseball and steroids....give me a **** break already.

Dale and Holley will talk about it today in there opening segment and then switch to steroids for the rest of the day

"Tanguay and Felger."  Reading those names made me cringe.

Could there be 2 local sports announcers/reports any less informed about sports?  Maybe Butch Stearns.

I couldn't agree more. It makes me sick the way CSN panders to the Red Sox and Patriots...the only reason I watch that piece of crap channel is for Celtics coverage, which you think they'd be decent at providing, since it's the Celts flagship station. But you'd be wrong, of course.

Last night reminded me of a few years ago when the Celts stunk and they had Dickerson interviewing Mike Vrabel, and Vrabel asked Dickerson which team he preferred covering, the Pats or the Celts. Keep in mind, Vrabel is asking this of the CELTICS SIDELINE REPORTER who has virtually nothing to do with Patriots coverage, save the odd interview here or there during the week. His answer? The Patriots. Unbelievable.

And Felger clearly just hates basketball (and pretty much sports in general--seriously, the guy is worse than Shaugnessy at this point), and he's basically said as much on air. Ryan Russillo is the only guy they bring in on that channel not directly affiliated with the Celtics (e.g. Mike and Tommy) that has a clue and actually seems like he would give a flip about the Celts if he wasn't paid to do so. You can feel the tension when Russillo and Felger discuss basketball, because it's clear that Felger doesn't have a clue and Russillo has a lot of contempt for him.

Finally, one other note, I just switched to RCN from Comcast (best move I've ever made, by the way...Comcast customer service is atrocious), and now Comcast SportsNet doesn't broadcast Celtics road games in HD. It's beyond annoying, although last night it helped me out since TNT gave better coverage of the KG injury, oddly enough. Comcast is a joke all-around.

Reporting on it and being totally fixated on baseball and steroids when their season hasn't even started is totally different.  The Celtics season is in full swing and you the way the media talks about the Sox and Celtics, you would think that the Celtics were the team whose season hasn't started yet, not the Sox.

Total agreement with you guys.  I went right to Comcast to find out info on the injury and we have to hear about Theo's legacy with the team and some no name pitcher from parts-unknown who will be bagging groceries once he is cut.

I wish Boston had a sports channel dedicated to everything BUT the Red Sox.

I've never really been one to turn to Comcast Sports Network to turn for breaking news.

Also, at that point, I didn't really expect them to have any more news on KG than any other reporting would have at the time.

on not a sick comcast obsession with the red sox, it's a sick boston obsession with the red sox. No matter what they celtics have done, are doing, or will do, the sox will always be the main team in boston, even when they are not winning.

Wow, some creep numerologist just called into the show and said he predicted KG was going to get injured and LeBron is also getting injured this season
