This one's a little surprising. LA isn't exactly deep at C. Perhaps they are banking on resigning Mihm after he is (presumably) bought out by Memphis.

Yeah, this has to be the Lakers version of the Cassell trade.

I agree.  He is not my first choice, but he would be worth a look if no one else shakes free.

Anyways, I wonder if the Lakers did this to open up a roster spot to make another trade, or go after buyout guys?  They don't have as many holes to fill as the C's, but maybe they are anticipating some valuable players being cut loose.

Definitely, he's better than anything else that's available.

Wont happen though, if he's bought out he'll head back to LA. Unless they've got something else brewing, which was my initial thought after they traded for Morrison.

Surprising trade from the Lakers, bad trade too. They're short on big men now, big risk they're taking on Bynum being healthy.

I'd be happy with the C's signing Mihm, he'd be a good fifth big for the team.

He's already been here and it didn't work. In fact, we traded him and others to LA for Payton.

So you wouldn't take Chauncey back either? Joe Johnson?

He was injured the whole time he was here.  As well as most of his time with the Lakers.

Who'd last longer before going on the inactive list because of injury: Mihm or Pollard?

He would be an upgrade over POB.
