Much ado about nothing.  If LeBron DOES participate, then guys like Wade and Kobe will be under a lot of pressure to participate as well, which would be a great thing for the weekend.

And honestly, if it were Shaq that TNT was talking to during the contest, and he was saying all the things that LeBron was, would we be having this conversation?  Sure, LeBron wants the light to be shone brightly on him - NEWS FLASH, SO DOES EVERY OTHER FREAKIN' PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE!  You think MJ loved the spotlight?  Kobe?  That's just how it is.

Frankly, I don't understand the hate for BronBron.  He entered the league a very good player, and has become the best.  Every aspect of his game, he's improved - offensive and defensive - which just goes to show how hard he still works.  What's he ever really done that people don't like?  He could have already bolted Cleveland if he wanted, he didn't need to sign an extension.  He might want to play in New York - again, EVERY player in the League wants to play where the lights are brightest.

Now, I'm rooting against the guy - but it's kind of like with Magic Johnson, I can root against the guy but still have the utmost respect for him.  He plays the game hard and he makes it a team sport; I love that he's a willing passer, which isn't something you can say about Kobe (but that you could about Bird).

Everyone says that the dunk contest isn`t what it used to be when we get to watch DrJ or Jordan VS Nique but at the same time when a present star like LeBron says that he intends to participate he is a selfish @#$!@ that likes to draw attention

There's a time to do it, and that wasn't it.  He was totally upstaging Howard and Robinson.  Now I'm not gonna place all the blame on him, because I'm sure the TNT crew sought him out, but he could've said something along the lines of, "Yeah, I'm putting my name for next year, but right now it's about Dwight and Nate."

Why are posters calling for Wade to participate against James? Since when has Wade been known for his dunks? Is there anyway the NBA could get Chris Paul and Dirk Nowitzki to complete the lineup?

And you say Will Ferrell's unfunny.  ::)

Wade is a more creative dunker than LeBron is.  LeBron's dunks look amazing because of how high he gets and because of the force of his dunks, but he's not creative at all when it comes to dunking, which is what the dunk contest is supposed to be about.

"dwight, nate ... great ... great charismatic"

"Lebron James is saying, in 2010 in dallas stadium, primarily I'm putting my name in the dunk contest"

what a moron.
