oh man I wish we had a decent expiring contract right now!

They sold Devin Harris to the Mavs.

You can't say it's a bad thing...Only time will tell is this a smart move. I can't wait to se what Wizards can do when they are healthy.
Note: i used to love Agent Zero, but with that "Would you?" statement he'll have to win my respect all over again.

I think the Wizards should package the pick and one of their borderline All-Star forwards, for an All-NBA type talent. Strengthen the core of their team. Jamison would be the best choice because he's older.

Or else, package the pick plus two bad midlevel contracts, and try to exchange that for another borderline All-Star.

Didn't they get Jamison in that trade?

Coming off his worst season.  And they unloaded some contracts with the pick.  (Jerry Stackhouse, Christian Laettner)

No dumber than Phoenix unloading Kurt Thomas and two #1s for a second round draft pick.

I'm waiting for a one of these teams to file bankruptcy.

The way they handled Arenas is proof they are very dumb.  Also when they have some young promising talent in Javale McGee, they don't really groom him like they should.  It's really a strange franchise.

Fair enough -- that was probably the most lopsided trade in recent memory.  The Sonics turned Kurt Thomas into three first round picks (b/c Sonics later traded Thomas to the Spurs for a first rounder).  Also, the 2010 pick from the Suns to the Sonics/Thunder may not be a bad pick, considering the state of the Suns...

I think we are going to see a lot of strange bargain fire sales as the economy is affecting a lot team. They were saying that jersey is hurting so bad that they will pretty much give Carter away just clear money for next year.

The only problem with this trade is that Bob Ryan would scribble off a column about how the Cs don't have a bench...

If this is true, Chicago should have traded Gooden to WAS for the #3 + Thomas...

if WASH is looking to dump salary I'd love to try and get DeShawn Stevenson:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b83cjn

MEM gets Tony Allen and Big Baby
WAS gets POB + Cash (they waive him)
BOS gets Stevenson

Stevenson can defend Lebron and Kobe in the playoffs.
