in this article david ortiz says that everyone should be tested 3-4 times a year, and if they are using steriods, ban them for a whole year.

i say, take it as far as possible. i know its extreme but if you want to fully get rid of steriods in baseball, ban them for life. if your need steriods that badly, you shouldnt be in the MLB to begin with.
hopefully though, we are closing the steriods era in baseball soon regardless of the penalty

I totally agree with a one year ban for steroid use and it is good to see Big Papi as the one saying it. They really need to clean up the sport and they should also add blood testing as well so it leaves no doubt.

agreed.  especially considering that the drugs will always be one step ahead of the tests.  there really should be no excuse for getting caught. 

the time it takes to discover a new drug, reverse engineer it, and then come up with a valid test for it --  it vastly under-rated.
