wow. WHAT AN AMAZING POST BY DRZA44. seriously. that was just an awesome post. i have never considered myself a racist by any stretch of the imagination. i remember i was in a mcdonald's downtown when the o.j. verdict was announced. it was insane. all the workers(who were black) erupted in a celebration.they ignored all the customers. they were hugging and jumping up and down. i was honestly hurt by the reaction. i would never have expected it. i expected to be disgusted if it happened but never "hurt." i'm not saying i was crying or anything but there it was. these people cheering in front of me felt like disrespectfull i guess and i felt "oh my god what kind of warped f' up country is this?" we're this f'd up?"
i worked in city hall. i went back inside and at the little cafe downstairs 2 lawyers, a man and a woman walked in. the woman was crying and saying she had lost all faith in the law, people etc. the guy was comforting her and just shaking his head. he could'nt believe it.
right there .. WHAM!! i figured that's about .0000000000001 percent what it's like to be called n****er to your face,to have older relatives KILLED because of the color of their skin. can you IMAGINE being told to your face to get to the back of the bus, when in some cases you know you could actually kick that person's ass? but no, you have to take it and let some coward wuss make himself feel better by putting you down. it' just incredible that all of this occured.wicked embarassing. sorry that rant went everywhere. i think obama's election is really gonna chnge a lot of this kind of garbage. i'm not tealking about the guy's politics. who knows if he'll be a good or bad president. i'm not calling gary a bad person at all. taht's the way the dude grew up. he should have known better but EVERYONE has done something a lot worse than a black guy saying that on the air. i bet that 10 yrs from now that will never happen. people would look back and be shocked how different we were in 2009.
