The Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Bobcats have engaged in serious discussions on a multiplayer trade centered around point guards Jamaal Tinsley and Raymond Felton, multiple sources told ESPN.com Tuesday.

The discussions between the teams have been ongoing for weeks, though the parameters and pieces have continually changed. If the deal comes to fruition, the sources said, it would likely include Tinsley, Jeff Foster and a third player (Brandon Rush, Stephen Graham, Marquis Daniels) going to the Bobcats for Felton, Nazr Mohammed and Sean May.

That is an awful trade for Charlotte.  Felton may not be the greatest player, but you need to at least get something back in return better then Marquis Daniels.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Marquis has played well against the Celtics, and the numbers for Marquis and Felton aren't that different, may not be as bad as it initially seems for the Bobcats. Tinsley, obviously is a waste.

Actually , they're weak at the 2 and think that Augistin would be a better player at the 1. If they get a scorer of Daniels size and potency plus Jeff Foster for Felton and two below average big men, I actually think it works out nicely for them.

Tinsley and Nazr are essentially a salary wash, so it comes down to Foster + third player for Felton from Indiana's perspective.  You've got to think that that's a talent upgrade, but how many PGs does Indiana need on its roster?  (Ford and Jack are there now).  If the third player is Rush or Graham, I'd do it from Indiana's perspective.  If it's Daniels, I wouldn't, just due to roster balance.

As for Charlotte, I'm not sure why they're in such a rush to get rid of Felton.  Foster is a decent player, but I probably wouldn't do the deal from their perspective, even with Daniels.

I wish so too. That would put us back on top. He's one of the best offensive rebounders in the league. Would be a great player coming off the bench.

If they're looking for a two guard after this trade, TA for Foster?

I don't think Tinsley is a complete waste.  He'll be a rotation guy, at least, and a decent backup for Augustin.  However, I don't think I'd want him mentoring my rookie PG.  That said, I do think it's a very favorable trade for the Pacers...but if it makes my season tickets more valuable I guess I'm ok with it.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

Uh? Daniels is an expiring they don't plan to re-sign. Same for Felton, unless they prefer to keep him and let Jack walk. Why would they give up Brandon Rush for an expiring contract?

Charlotte has DJ Augustin to run the point, getting something of value like Foster (a Larry Brown type of player) for Felton instead of nothing is nice.
