You can almost always win a game of horse by simply shooting simple jump shots, what a letdown that would be if all they did was shoot free throws.

Haha I would beat college friends doing just lefty layup after lefty layup until they banned it junior year. What a HUGE letdown that would be if Joe Johnson just shoots little elbow jumpers all night.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

We used to play horse where you can't do the same shot twice in one game.  So lefty layups and shots you had perfected wouldn't only be good for one letter.

Huh...  no Kevin Love?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GFGPqdpEAk&feature=related

I guess it's nearly impossible to prove either way, but if I were a betting man (and I'm not), I would put a fair amount of money on the notion that the Kevin Love trick shot video is fake. The camera angle is such that the ball disappears at the top of the screen every time - and to me, the delay between when the ball leaves the screen and when it re-enters seems just a bit unnatural. Also, why in the world is there a black curtain all around the key? Because it's probably hiding the crane lift that's holding the first guy who is catching the balls from K-Love and the second guy who is shooting a different ball into the basket - all of which is taking place just above the viewable frame. A well-executed stunt indeed.

But Love does have the full-court shot thing going for him.

I can't say that Durant and Mayo have me all that excited. Joe Johnson maybe. I guess I don't have better suggestions (except maybe Nash), but it seems like they could have done better with the players they selected.

Next thing you'll be telling me there's no Santa.

Yeh, they definitely should have put Love in there for that!  Let him prove it.  Whether or not those shots actually went in they had pretty good trajectory.
Yup

I had a weird baseline layup, where I would scoop the ball and bank it off the backboard with my off hand (that descriptions is probably useless), basically it was one shot I knew my Dad, and none of my friends could make, so once I got behind I would just do it over and over.

Sorry for killing your joy. By the way, no Easter bunny either. But my brother-in-law is a dentist and he says that the tooth fairy is for real.  ;)

Huh...  no Kevin Love?

I'm guessing it's because he wasn't invited to All-Star weekend for any other reason, while the other 3 were.  He better be there next year though.

I'm betting my money on Durant.

Though, Kevin Love got snubbed of a HORSE invite.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

No Love for Love? First the rookie-sophmore game now this. Did he insult Stern on draft night?

I'm going with Durant too, for no other reason than I love his game, and no one seems to care about him.

Joe Johnson takes ridiculous deep threes in actual games, why would anyone think he would take elbow jumpers in a horse contest.

No Sheed'???

I would've liked to have seen, Steve Nash (for his obvious tricky soccer shots he could've pulled), Rasheed Wallace (because we all know he loves to shoot with the off-hand and is a funny character), and Joe Johnson seems like a pretty good candidate, so leave him in there because he's a former Celtic, and as pointed out already, he'll pull up from anywhere.

I'm taking OJ, nobody has, but I think Mayo has a good chance at this. No dunking, but I hope they do heaps of fancy layups lol.
Anything is possible!!!

I am torn........I can not decide if this is the dumbest thing I have seen or if it's pure genius.  The NBA had better hope that the players selected can step up.

The problem is, nothing they will do will compare with "the commercial"....nothing but net.
Call me a sap, but I love my kids more than anything!
