We should be comparing Dwade to Josh Howard, not what Kobe did, Kobe is in a league of his own.
Boston is the Greatest City in the World !!!

Wade isn't widely vilified because his actions don't deviate from the norm of a professional athlete. If all NBA players were thrown under the bus for smoking pot and having sex parties who would they get for the NBA cares commercials?

 ;D again...classic.
God bless and good night!

An aging AC Green?  I think he might be booked for a sequel to The 40 Year Old Virgin though.   ;D

As for Wade, the cheating and drug use are probably like steroids in baseball: it's just safer to assume everyone's doing it until you hear otherwise.  Professional athletes are young, fit, and extraordinarily wealthy, and their level of hedonism is really only constrained by their conscience (and maybe the law after they get caught).

You constantly defended kobe, but you quickly bought into the DWade stuff, I think you are involving personal feelings for these players into your comments.

Honestly, you didn't read my posts in the Kobe thread clearly, as evidenced by 100% of your responses.

My posts in the Kobe thread were reactionary to people calling Kobe a "rapist" when the overall context of that thread, at that time, was not relevant.

This thread is highlighting the vast discrepancy between how people perceive Kobe vs Wade.

Get it now?  Clever stuff, I know.
Come on Brick, "rapist" is such a bad name that makes Kobe look bad. "Therapist" sounds so much more professional!
*cough* yeah I just finished reading nicks "kobe" thread. I think I will fold my hand on this debate. I said nutin, party on Wayne er.. or Brick.  :)
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

Kobe's perception on the court was that he was a self centered jerk in a lot of people's eyes (mine included.) He projected a clean cut image that didn't jibe with the Shaq feuding etc. Then the rape charge broke for those who didn't like him, it invalidated the off court image he had cultivated and validated their dislike for him.

Personally I've never liked Wade either. I also have no idea if he and his wife had "an agreement" or what allegations are true. But based on how the rape charges played out, it seems quite flimsy to call him the rapist.

At any rate, it seems like the best thing an NBA player can do is project, but not promote a clean cut image.
