Is it possible Scal isn't playing because he is being offered in a trade?
I am no Dr., but hasn't he been out an awful long time for a concussion?
I was thinking maybe he was being shopped well his value was up  or maybe he has been agreed to in some way? Anyone else think about this?

I don't think so.  He got back-to-back concussions, and apparently they were pretty serious.  Look at Patrice Bergeron with the Bruins: he missed, what, 15 games this year, and missed 72 games last season with a more serious concussion?

Yea getting two concussions in a single week is pretty serious.  I'm sure it's more of a precaution as opposed to being traded.  Concussions aren't to be messed around with, just ask Troy Aikmen.

Yeah, regardless of the concussion, players are not held out of multiple games like that because they are being shopped around.  A player will not play in a game if a trade has already been agreed upon, but that is the extent of it.

I actually think we are going to really need Scal.  He has actually had a very solid season to this point and has been key in filling in for injured teammates.

What do we think we are going to get in return for him that would be better than him at this point?  I think TA is the one to go if anyone goes.

Let's hope the 2 concussions are not causing additional problems for Scal and that this is just a precaution.

I agree with this.  Unless an upgrade is brought in, I think he is going to be a very important part of the rotation.  He has played excellent when he has been with the starters, and the C's really need his size and defense at the 3/4 position.

I've seen soccer players miss months in similar circumstances.

For the sake of arguement, playoff rotations:

Perk, KG, PP, Ray, Rondo
KG, Scal, PP, Ray, Rondo
Perk, Scal, PP, Ray, Rondo
Perk, Baby, Scal, Ray, Rondo
KG, Powe, Scal, House, Sam
etc.

Playoff minutes:

KG 38, PP 40, Ray 40, Rondo 40, Perk 32, Scal 20, House 14, Baby/Powe 8, Sam 6, Tony 2

So are we really so lost with this team?

I am on board with the idea that its the fact that the bench is being used as a unit that is a key problem. I also think that the inless/injuries to Perk, Tony, Scal, and KG have had a significant impact to the bottom line: probably three losses minimum. I think the above team can win it and I see two big roadblocks: we are behind in the race for home court and we don't have a long big beyond KG and Perk

If anything it's the opposite. Danny has done this a number of times. He plays the guy who he wants to trade and kinda stashes the guy he wants to keep. Probably wants to trade TA, Baby and maybe Powe... Stashing Pruitt, Scal, Sam and O'Bryant....

I thought JR was back in Utah?

Is this their way of saying a trade is happening?  Stay tuned!

(yes, I'm being a bit melodramatic on purpose - I don't think anything is happening, just found it funny that Celtics.com is being coy on their twitter page)

Thanks for the link to the twitter.  It is also saying Tony is out for two games with a thumb injury.
