Yes, KG missed a jumper with 28 seconds left up 1, but he also nailed two right before that.  I'll take 67% shooting in the uber-clutch.

And not sure exactly what Pierce did to "choke".  The clear path foul was bad, but that wasn't a choke... he panicked after the steal and fouled, almost everyone in that situation would do the same.

Ray.... well... yeah, Ray choked.  But everyone makes mistakes, I'm glad that he got about 3 of them out in the same game, because it's about the only time I can think of that he really "choked".

Just appreciate the time that NESN actually talks about the Celtics.  Once pitchers and catchers report, you won't here about the Celtics on NESN until the playoffs.

Yeah, but the ad is a lot better than that lady's chubby stomach, right? ;)  The good thing about the NESN ads is that they rotate them every day or two.  I think they're working out great.

I would agree, though, that the "big three" didn't choke, for the reasons you stated.  I especially don't think it's fair to criticize KG for taking a shot with 8 seconds left on the shot clock.  Should he have passed on an open jumper from his sweet spot, instead running down 7 more seconds and having somebody settle for a worse look?

Someone over at NESN is a little dramatic, its not a choke to lose a game in february to the Spurs.

I have loved the NESN ads for the most part... yes... much better than their predecessor.  Just was not a headline I would've expected to see from this past game...

methinks they are looking for a little edginess (is that a word?)

little hint that you didn't hear from me - if you want the ads to stay, it might be a good idea to click thru every once in a while - not sure how long the contract runs but I'm sure they are monitoring the traffic

I think we've killed the chubby belly ads once and for all, but I'd like to keep the kind of sponsors that we like rather than leaving it up to chance

In an unrelated incident, I clicked on the NESN ad and really liked the article I saw in front of me. I enjoyed the article so much that I plan on clicking that same link on many future occasions.

one third of the big three choked. Ray Allen was atrocious, but his mistake wasn't unforgivable.

Choke is a pretty big stretch.  Really, outside of that one 4-point play, the Celtics were right there to take that game.  All of the mistakes made can pretty much all be tied to the ball slipping out of Ray's hand...sucks, but it happens sometimes and I'd rather it happen now than in the playoffs when it'd really hurt.

And I think it's grossly unfair to include KG in any article that says "choke" about yesterday's game.  Over the last 5 minutes of the game KG either scored or assisted on literally EVERY Celtics point except for House's 3-pointer with 9 seconds left.  He went 4-for-5 from the field, including a trey, and had the bucket-steal-bucket combo that took the Celts from down 1 to up 3 with under a minute left.  Kind of hard to classify that as a choke, no matter how it's spun.

I don't think they choked either. They had to make a run to climb back into the game a couple of times and they fell short at the end. Ray asked the referee for some space and he was ignored. It was unfortunate. They can't be successful in the clutch all the time. The headline here should have been why has the bench gone back to giving up leads? When they play well they give the starters some breathing room at the end.

My sentiments exactly. Wasn't he actually trying to reel the ball back in when that ginobili stole it from his hands?

please avoid statements like this - I know you may not be calling out anyone in particular, but this comes very close to name calling, which is disrespectful and something we don't allow here

thanks.

Appears NESN has a different definition of what "choking" mean than most.

Yeh the last few ads I've seen from NESN lately have been way off. They must be struggling for stories.
