Not really an answer but mac's OS is the easiest thing I've ever used, and trumps windows by far. Never crashes. Took me 2 days to learn the shortcuts and most of them are so intuitive you don't need to look them up. Just try what you think the shortcut should be and it works, if that makes sense.

Can you taste the smug through this post or is it just me?

I'd recommend Ubuntu (on a Celtics related site no less.) as probably the easiest to learn Linux derived OS.

As far as being better than Windows? I personally have Vista on my MacBook Pro but I never use it except for my exams. MS, IMHO, royally screwed up with Vista. It's no wonder most people are sticking with XP and waiting for Windows 7. XP and Ubuntu may be a matter of preference.

I've been thinking about creating a third partion on my MBP to run Ubuntu and possibly installing it on my PS3.

Yeah I'm really impressed with mac's OS.  Unfortunately, I don't have the money to go drop 1300 on a new laptop.  I have one more semester after this and I'm hoping to get through with this laptop, 4.5 years with a computer isn't too bad now a days.  Though recently, windows just hasn't been working for me.  The only thing with going linux is I'll need to reinstall a whole lot of stuff.
