Here's the real coffee: there's nothing wrong with the C's, still the best team in the NBA easily. Call the game fair and nobody can touch them, or at least not a sloppy team like LA. The Lakers needed a ton of help to make it a game...they even needed the refs to repeat one of the worst screw jobs ever and foul out KG for nothing like they did when the Wolves almost beat the Shaq Lakers.

In a fair game, the Lakers aren't even close, so tweaking the team this way or that is pointless as far as beating LA goes. Of course they will pick up a decent player if they can find one, but it has nothing to do with losing to LA twice this year or beating them in the finals.

Status Quo = No Ring.

Starting POB = #3 seed in the East.

And that's the best case scenario. Philly might sneak up and win the Atlantic. Hey it could happen.

 Well, I agree, put in POB.....It only makes sense. He cannot do any worse than Scal, BBD, or Leon. They cannot cover the big men. How much worse can he do? Doc has a 1950 "Hoosers" mentality...."Uh, he is a rookie so he don't play till next year". We got killed by Mr Softee himself, Gashol......come-on.....The C's wein because KG, Ray A and PP coach...when they fail we have nothing...oh and what will doc do if Perk, or KG get hurt....ever think he should develop POB......doc, you aren't thinking...!

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale

Three problems here:

1) Everyone on the Hoosiers roster saw playing time, even Ollie (who is probably the Celtics equivalent of POB, except with more heart)  ;);

2) POB isn't a rookie. This is his third year; and

3) Gasol is a very skilled offensive player.

look, i hate the lakers but i swear the general feeling around boston, from the average sports fan, is that gasol is some kind of chump. no, he's a loser because he's a laker. unfortunately he's an all star loser.

How much worse can he do?

  There's a stock answer to this question: worse than you can imagine.

Mutumbo would have been a nice match up for Gasol, he'd get some calls and his lenght would be very useful.  I can only assume that PJ will be coming back. Otherwise it makes not sense not to take Deke.

However if PJ is coming back, he can defend and score and he knows our system/guys...

Has to be the case...you can't pass on Deke unless you have someone else...
