  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Will the refs ever give Rondo a call? Must he be clotheslined in the air every time to get to the freaking line?!! It seems that he only gets calls when he lands on his ass. It's becoming ridiculously frustrating to me. I watch him bounce off defenders all the time, but still no call. I can't be the only one feeling this way.

This is why I hate the NBA outside the Celtics, and its because if you're a superstar you'll get the call.  If you're a veteran on a winning team, you'll get the call. But if you are a younger player they won't give you a break.  I know I'm overreacting over all this but it ticks me off.

Trust me this isn't an over reaction thread. This thread was coming even if we won. I've been noticing this for a while now.

Today was just special. Farmar brushes against House on a drive foul, same for D fish. Rondo literally bounces off Derek Fischer, and throws up a shot, but nothing.

Why do i think this the lakers year? last year the league helped us out with the way some games were called & this year its the opposite. They want to renew this rivalry and having the celtics win 2 straight isn't fun. Seriously? We foul too much & we barely shoot FT beside PP.

I'm sorry but did you watch Game 6 in Detroit?
I make it a point to only complain about refs
when the Celtics win. That way, people can't
call me a sore loser. Anyways, if there was
ever a game in which things looked weird, fixed
and rigged, the ECF Game 6 was that game.

EDIT:
I missed the "seriously" part which indicates you
were being sarcastic right here. My bad  :-[

I think Celtics can only learn from this and continue to focus on winning games even when the reffing is suspect. They did a good job keeping their composure in Philly but it must be tough to get shafted by the referees on the road and then come home and face the same problem. The Mavs and Kings games stick out to me but they've gotten some shady reffing in this latest win streak.

This is true...rondo does not get calls like every other point guard in the league does, and he gets hit harder and more consistently, most other guys get the calls by flopping, rondo gets hammered but isnt a great flopper, so he doesnt get rewarded...also just because he isnt a great ft shooter doesnt mean hes not getting fouled refs

Present and accounted for.  Watched the entire game last night.  Great game, horrible officiating.  I don't ever blames the refs and even I know the Celts got jobbed near the end.  Allen was hand checked.  Now, I know that the call is not always made in that situation, but usually you can tell from the flow of the officiating whether to expect that call or not.  The refs seemed to call the game tight one minute and then incredibly loose the next.  If the refs are willing to put Odom on the line with almost no time left then they must be willing to put Allen on the line as well.

In the refs defense putting Odem at the line at the end of the game in most cases would hand the game to the Celtics... JK, while were talking about fouls how about the touch foul to get Garnett out of the game.
"Sam Cassell was heckling on the sideline when I walked down, He looked at me and was like, ‘You're getting the ball, I know you're getting the ball!'
said Allen.

And did Cassell, a man of many words, have anything to say after that?

"No, I told him he needed to wear a tie."

How was Kobe Bryants "steal" from Pierce at the end of regulation NOT a foul???

TNT didn't even replay it.  He threw a shoulder into PP and jarred the ball lose causing a 3 on 1 break where Ray ends up fould the Llama and sending him to the line.

My biggest gripe last night was the inconsistent officiating.  I actually liked that for most of the game the refs let them play, but there were spots here and there where all touch fouls were called where blatant over the back calls were not just a few minutes before.  Very frustrating.

As an aside, something else I've noticed over the years is that a big weakness (if you'd call it that) of Ray Allen's is that he is bad at selling fouls.  He always tries to make the shot, often avoiding contact which sometimes leads to a bad shot.  For example, he'll try to go up for a layup in traffic, avoid everyone and miss it, where Pierce just goes through people, also misses the layup, but gets the call.  When Ray tries to get the call or is actually fouled, refs hardly ever call it because he isn't a foul drawer like Pierce, Maggette, Miller, etc.  I think he gets mugged more times per game without a call than Rondo.

The game is over and stop the whining. We lost the game as we did not take our chances. Simple as that!  Refs make mistakes like any other player does not make a laypup or a shot.  This is just a GREAT wakeup call for our team, or should I say to our coaches and/or Danny Ainge.  We need some shake up in our playing staff.  Something needs to be done and if that means trading players, then fine!
In Danny Ainge I Trust!
