I feel like our team has one, maybe two, more good shots at the championship, this year included. After that, any team with LeBron is going to be very tough, nee, impossible, to stop from winning a string of championships, barring injury to the Chosen One.  His emergence these past few seasons is so similar to that of Michael Jordan's rise, only he is an even bigger, stronger, version.  He seems capable of scoring at will on a given occasion. Yes, he gets alot of calls, but so did His Airness.  And he is still so very young; what, 24?? Are you kidding me?  Seems like he will hold the cards when he becomes a FA, and choose to go where he is going to have the best surrounding cast. That could be Cleveland, especially if they win it all this year or next. He won't go to NY for the sake of the crowds. HE will only go there if he feels they are surrounding him with championship components. Similar to KG's turnaround decision to come here.

We are similar to the early 90's Piston team. We are led by vets, and have good role players.  But let's be honest: the best we can hope for is two more crowns before we are back to rebuilding mode. Hey, I'll take that deal any day of the week, given the 22 year wait for No. 17.

Did you just say LeBron is a bigger, stronger version of Jordan?

Yep. More and more each day that seems to where he is headed.

Well, lets no get carried away here.  Lebron and Jordan are completely separate players.  Lebron gets by with pure athleticism, decent shooting and strength.  Lebron is definitely stronger than Jordan was but he doesn't have near the finesse or touch on his shot.  They are completely different players who excelled in different ways.

Lebron is not Michael Jordan at least not now

I think the OP's point was that LeBron's level now is very analogous to Jordan's level circa 1990.  Before he won all of the titles to cement himself atop the basketball history books, Jordan's impact looked a lot like LeBron's has.

As for the Pistons/Bulls vs Celtics/Cavs analogy, it has crossed my mind a couple of times as well since there are some similarities.  It doesn't fit exactly, though, because IMO this Celtics team has more relative talent at the top than that Pistons team did.  I always felt that those Pistons were not as talented at the top as some of their peers, but won through guile/teamwork/grit.  These Celts have that same guile/teamwork/grit aspect, but I also think they have as much talent at the top as any of their competition.  I guess this year's playoffs will help me get a handle on whether or not my assessment is correct.
