I don't think the Lakers used the Bynum absence as an excuse before or during the series, but sure did use it after. Probably because they thought they would beat us anyway.

But honestly, they become a very long team, and expose our lack of deep length.  Maybe not last year so much, but certainly this season.  If the shoe were on the other foot, we would be saying the same thing. It is the nature of fandom.

Wow.. like I said before, their team is filled with sore losers. Just be men and accept the fact that they got their butt handed to them.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

In the interest of true sportsmanship, and to protect this fine rivalry between two great franchises, I hereby propose that the Celtics give the Lakers Patrick O'Bryant.

 ;D

Sorry, Coach, but if that's your idea of sportsmanship then I'm glad you don't coach my kids.

People say Lakers fans are delusional I think Celtics fans are delusional.  Can you seriously post here with a straight face and say Bynum doesn't threaten twenty+ points every game that series?  And with him spreading the floor I'm guessing Ty Kobe averages 40+ a game.  That right there is 60 points, and with Bynum's interior defense the Cs are lucky to crack 80 a game.  Sasha Vujajic LIGHTS OUT for three 7 times and that's it, game over.

This team needs an asterisk next to it's name just like the Spurs and also the Pistons when they beat the Lakers.  There have been 60 NBA Championships total and the Lakers have only won 14 championships.  Think of how many they would have won with Bynum.  25?  30?  That's a LOT of asterisks that need to be added.

Sadly, I read the first part of this post and started to respond to it...

HA! After that series Sasha's defense was being praised like crazy in LA, based on his defense on a broken Manu Ginobli. Sasha was supposed to unleash his awesome defense on Allen and Pierce. That didn't go as planned.  ::)
If Ginobili were healthy last spring, Sasha would have been ripped a new one.

Ah, the Great Ole!
The memory of that play still brings a huge grin to my face.
I love how Ray had the time to turn and look over his shoulder back at Sasha.

Guffawww.

Just thinking outside the box on how to finally get rid of him.

I wonder if the Lakers would like him gift-wrapped?

Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Come on, we all know Bynum would have helped LA and if I was 7 feet tall or more I'd be in the NBA instead of typing this.  ;D

I know an LA fan who was giving me some crap about how the Lakers would beat the Celts tommorrow.

I just said the same thing I've said anytime he brings up the Lakers.

What else is there to say

And we'll continue to hold on to that punch below the belt until someone takes it from us.

The lakers honestly thought going into that series that they were better than us, with or without bynum...they then proceeded to get royally punked...and we've since heard excuse after excuse from them and there delusional fanbase
Somehow PP "faking" his knee injury cheated them out of a title
Had Bynum been healthy, they would've swept us
the refs cheated them and allowed garnett to set illegal screen the entire series
the dumbest of all was when Derek Fisher said "they knew this was their only chance at a title, so they played harder than us because we will win plenty in the future"
Lamar Dumb recently quoted as saying they "were a half away from winning a title" which half was that? you win game 4 and the series is tied knucklehead

Sounds like Dirk after he lost in the Finals. Until he proves me wrong, he'll always be a loser.
