What a ballgame! I mean that's one of many reasons I like basketball, the thrill of a close game. Yet, I mean to comment about Greg D.'s postgame interview of Ray. Gee whiz, can that man speak eloquently, decently, in a manner which even surmounts his play. A better person than player, he is very, very classy.

Precisely.  This is exactly why we don't trade him for [insert young swingman].

I was driving through Westminster, south on Rt. 2 the day after the Celtics got Ray Allen and I heard him on WEEI.  I was totally impressed with him during that interview and my respect for him has grown both on the court and off.

Ray Allen is what every athlete should aspire to be.

I'm hoping Stern saw this. RayRay just solidified his bid for that vacant spot. As long as we keep the best record Ray should be in.

Just saw this on the Globe's Celtics' blog.  (yes I'm slow)

Allen, though, was doubtful for Tuesday's game because of flu symptoms, but made a rapid recovery during the day. Allen said he felt chills, was tired and weak, and also had a nosebleed. But after a steamy shower and nap before the game, Allen decided to play.

Makes me appreciate that buzzer beater all the more.

I wonder how all those "Let's Trade Ray" posters feel now.....

MVP of the team so far this season.

Fantastic shot today, by the NBA's consummate professional.

I don't know, this could mean Tony Allen since they said he was feeling doozy too.

i love this team so much.  It was also awesome that instead of taking a contested shot, Pierce passed the ball to Ray and trusted him with it.  This is the stuff that people questioned when the "big three" got together.  They said, "Who is going to take the last second shots?" and the response was always, "whoever is open" ... it's great to see how unselfish this team is.

i remember after Danny traded for Ray, bob ryan wrote a piece complaining about how it was a dumb move, how we were giving up "too much" in a young and improving Delonte west and also Szczerbiak, and i remember thinking 'what is this guy talking about?  ray allen is a hall of famer hands down, he averages 27 points a game (in his career season) and may be the most clutch shooter in the league, how can you possibly complain about that?'  good for Ray he should have been an all star before and he'd better be one now.

Ray Allen's classy character is something that a lot of other teams don't see. I never saw it before he came here, but now I honestly can't think of many nicer guys in the NBA.

Plus, He Got Game. What's not to love?
