Oh goody.  Another meaningless event to add to a collossal waste of time that is all-star weekend.

i disagree.  i find all star weekend to be a lot of fun to watch.  its an exhibition of entertainment and has a lot of history behind it.  every year, its not only fun to see what will happen, but also reminisce about performances from yrs past.

I thought it might be sorta lame with a lot of missed shots until I watched that oldschool vid.  It has the potential to be pretty fun.  Simmons will be pleased

So, you follow a children's game played by grown men, but an exhibition of the most popular and talented players is beneath you?  Just checking.

Anyway, this is great news!  Except for the time problems some people mention - a lot of real games can take a long time, so I'm not sure how they'll do it with several players.

And so help me God, if there's a WNBA player within a country mile of this thing...<shakes fist>

Bravo!  And the first guy they invite should be Kevin Love, the trick shot artist extraordinaire.

This is absolutely awesome.  I bet the time thing won't be too bad.  I played it as a kid with multiple players.  One person makes a shot and then everyone else has to make it otherwise they get a letter.  I have a feeling the time thing won't be too bad.  It can't be worse than Chris Anderson's dunk contest attempts.

I realize that doing a bunch of trick shots will make the game go on forever because there would be too many misses, but I hope there's SOME sort of balance.  That match between Gervin and Maravich was not very creative.  Gervin just took jump shots and Maravich took shots with little degree of difficulty.

I want to see some bounces of the floor, some hook shots, reverse layups, etc.

I bet Rondo would be pretty good at h-o-r-s-e too.

This is awesome.  I hope they make a rule that you can't dunk.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I have to agree with the original quote.  The allstar game is the best players playing basketball at their worst.  I could watch Team USA in the Olympics, even though it was an all star team, because they practice with eachother and play to win.  The allstar game is just a bunch of great players slapped together and having a good time.

There is nothing *wrong* with that, but there's nothing wrong with thinking it's pretty boring and useless, either.  It depends on what your favorite part of basketball is, I guess.  Mine definitely isn't individual talent.

i remember when i used to play horse with my friends back then. being a shooter i did lots of jumpshots, and they cant match it. of course if they are first i have to try and make those fancy lay ins which im no good at

Is this going to be part of Allstar Saturday?

I hope this is a permanent fixture, I think this is going to be good.

And Rondo better be invited.
Anything is possible!!!
