First things first, kudos to Kobe for embarrassing the pathetic Knicks almost single-handedly. 61 pts. New MSG record. Just proves how pathetic the Knicks' defense is. I also checked out the box score and saw that Kobe had 20 attempts at the FT line. So Kobe's on fire and the Knicks defense sends him to the line for 20 attempts? What were they thinking of accomplishing there? That he cools off at the FT line? Pretty bad move, IMO.

Kobe better get used to doing that on a nightly basis. Cause that's the way he should be playing if he wants a chance to beat the Celts on Feb. 5. Let's see him try to do that on an elite defensive team like the Celts and the Cavs.

Too bad Kobe has to be on such a good team.  I'd prefer to watch him play like AI on the Sixers teams.  Score a million points and still lose.  I can't stand seeing Kobe win games.

C'mon guys.  61 points is 61 points.  That's impressive no matter how you look at it.  We can still hate the Lakers and respect the ability of the players on the team.  Kobe may be a phony as a person, but as a basketball player, he's one of the best to ever play the game.

It's true that the Lakers don't usually play as good when he takes the majority of the shots, but without the performance he put on last night, they probably lose that game.  And we can say all we want about the pathetic Knicks defense, but that defense beat us during our 2-7 streak.  I hope the team remembers that on Friday.

But it's Kobe!  What self-respecting Celtics fan would give props to Kobe. ;)

They beat us during the 2-7 streak...can we give them a cookie? it was also our 3rd time playing them, if they played the lakers a 3rd time - they win..
They also had thier best defensive performance in years in that game against us and absolutely no effort defensivly last night
sorry, the 20 free throws all of which came on questionable calls take away from his 0 rebound 61 pt performance

Just to fan the flames a bit...here's an interesting typo from the people at MSG:

Looks like we're not the only ones looking forward to Thursday.

Lol, I was watching MSG last night, and I noticed that, I also noticed Tina cervasio works for them, she use to be the red sox/nesn girl....and I also had to mute the game because of mike breens gushing over the lakers calling them "the best team in the league" more than once, just absolutely creaming his pants over kobe and gasol....Mike breen is obnoxious, i cant even comphrehend why he has the playoffs/finals for abc...hes putrid

YAWN?

Man for real, ya'll who ain't giving the man the respect he deserves.

Sure the celts n lakers have a rivalry.

But comeon. 61pts on 60% shooting is absolutely insane!
My hat is off to him, might not like him, but you have to respect his game.

In all honesty, PP or LBJ just don't have the skills to match up to this man when he's on fire... There i said it.
Okay, you have 1 post?  Faker trollers or others demanding propers for Kobe the Rapist should be banned immediately.

Celtics by 61 Thursday night.  How's that?

I hear "Dueling Banjos". Kobe, go rape this guy.

I was at the game last night.

Seeing Kobe score 61 was pure torture!

Quentin Richardson let kobe get hot and I thought Wilson Chandler actually played good D on him.

They arent the same team without bynum. Looking forward to Thursday

Kobe deserves props for this game.  When's the last time LeBrick or CP3 put up 60?  80?
God bless and good night!
