I know this might sound crazy to say, but next year with Durant in his third year and hopefully rookie Blake Griffin at the 4 The Thunder might be able to make the playoffs and be a team to atleast be IN games against caliber teams. They have the building blocks and I actually expect them to be good in the near future.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that's not gonna happen.  They have some good young players to build around, but when's the last time a team built around 3-4 guys in their early 20's made the playoffs?  They're 10-35 this year.  They might win 20 games this year, which is where they finished a season ago in Seattle with absolutely no HCA.  Blake Griffin, or any other rookie isn't going to change that.  They're going to continue to suffer through some growing pains.

No matter how many games they lose, the Thunder still won't have good odds to land the number one pick. But Griffin really would fit nicely into their future plans. if the Thunder have Griffin next season my estimation is that they will win 35 games.

How old was Shaq, Penny, et al, when they made the playoffs? And of course, how old were three guys named Larry, Kevin, and Robert when they made the playoffs?  ;D

When the Magic made the Finals in 1995, Shaq and Penny were 23 and 24.

Let's see: NBA franchise in Oklahoma, top rated prospect to enter next year's draft hails from a school in state, and the commissioner of the league and the team's owner are BFFs.

Nah, it would never happen.

hahaha... should we just call him Blake Ewing and get it over with?
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

One positive thing for the Thunder going forward is that they are going to have at least one GREAT player in Durant.  That puts them ahead of other teams such as Memphis, etc.  And how long has it taken Chicago to draft a legitimate great player?  Maybe they finally got their guy this year in Rose.

O.J. Mayo is just as good as Durant and Rose imo

They needs a young defensive C and SG to fill out the starting lineup.

Every team needs a super 6 man. Like we got with Scalabrine. :-[

Green would run the bench squad.
Can't stop, Rondo!

maybe as good as rose, but probably not in the long run (rose is younger and his pro position is harder to learn). Durant is in another stratosphere, and is still younger than mayo!
