He might be out some time:

"Celtics forward Brian Scalabrine was taken to New England Baptist Hospital after suffering a concussion at practice today, and coach Doc Rivers said he expects the forward to be out for an extended period of time.

Scalabrine originally suffered a concussion against Dallas last Sunday and received another when he bumped into teammate Patrick O'Bryant while trying to get a rebound at practice today"

clearly POB is trying a new tactic to see the floor, hurting fellow bigs.

I fear for leon and baby's saftey  ;D

The concussion on Sunday couldn't have been too bad if he stayed in the game and was at practice, but 2 blows to the head in a few days is still scary, even for Scal Norris.  Hopefully they won't rush him back too soon.

Look for some more of Walker and also a chance for Powe to earn himself a spot back in the rotation.
I think its a good time to see Walker get some sf minutes and Leon to come back and help.  Scal does need to take it easy, concussions are NOT a good thing and can reoccur easily.  See eric lindros

Get better fast big Scal. I don't want people forgetting how much better we play with you in there. We shouldn't overlook the fact that the bench has been "magically" playing better since he came in and TA took a seat. It can't be coincidence!

I'd rather see POB get the extra minutes than Powe. Leon has had multiple chances with meaniningful minutes and done little with them. Let's give POB some real PT, not limit him to garbage time.

100% agree, i've had enough with leon. he's got hustle on rebounds but he completely fails offensively, he jumps up with the ball looking for contact, then failing to make free throws, or he gets the ball and stumbles to the hoop for a bad shot.

I like to think its a combo of scal's move to the 4/ occasinal 5 spot and Turnover tony's absence.

Do not want to swap the formula around, get well soon scal, TA...take your time bud. don't rush yourself!  ;)

I agree, then we will be able to see if he is any good or not.A lot of posts are spectulation about his game.I want to see for myself whether he is worth keeping or not.Its as good a time as any, while Scal is down and Powe is not playing well.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Unfortunately, whoever Scal is replaced with -- Powe, Tony, or even Walker -- it's going to result in ball movement becoming more stifled.  Hopefully, Doc continues to mix in starters with the bench to alleviate this a bit.

If I had my pick between Powe, Walker, or Tony, I'd definitely prefer Powe.  He brings some tangible, NBA-ready skills, which is more than can be said for the other two right now (although I really like Walker for the future.)

Hope Scal gets well soon. Boy times have changed when a Scal injury gets me worried about the Celtics play suffering  ;D.  Can't believe Dirk has the nerve to complain about the Celtics getting calls after he got free throws for giving his defender a concussion.

Agreed. Especially when it was so obviously one sided with them getting every touch foul, and with us getting twice the fouls called on us than them with half the free throws they shot. I think Dirk is starting to realize that he isn't the Cornerstone type player that people thought he was rather a nice complimentary player and he is starting to compensate by being a whiny little girl about everything.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
I'm really disappointed in hearing this news...there's not a bigger Scal backer here than me...

i don't know how i'm going to be able to get over this...

i am still peeved about that "move" Dirk pulled.

on a positive note, it will be time for Powe to show what he has, and against the Kings, Powe should do well.
Celtics fan for life.

If I have to pick between those 3 I think I'd go with Walker at this point. Tony has totally underwelmed me so far this season and he hasn't played in 11 games. As for Leon, I hate to say it, but he's playing much worst than last year.Last year he stayed within his game, rebounding, out backs, etc. Now he's become a black hole on offense and his defense is less that great. Also to be honest, I've never been a huge fan of having Powe and Davis on the floor together. Both are basicly low post bangers, although Baby has devoloped a bit of an outside shoot. I'd like to see if Walker could be what I hope Tony would be. Play good D, spread the floor, slash to the hoop, type of guy, without turning the ball over. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't mind seeing what he brings to the table.
Lastly, a BIG sorry to Scal. I have been one of his biggest bashers, but he's been playing very well lately and will be missed in the rotation.
