It says Nelson, Parker, Rose, and Harris. It doesn't say anything about replacing Williams so I wonder if Rondo will get the chance.

Who else notices at the top of the page. All of Wests' starting 5 is smiling and everybody in Easts' looks like they're going to rip your head off.  ;D

Yeah, I guess that's a smile for Yao.

Rondo is 2nd in the league in assists. Why wouldn't he be invited. Plus he's on a winning team AND he's an exciting player to watch, especially a fan favorite for Celtics fans. If he isn't at least invited then I think there's a problem.
House and Ray should be invited to the 3point contest as well, but I bet they'll get snubbed won't they
Can't stop, Rondo!

Doubtful, they usually only go with 4 people.  Also, it's a skill competition, him being on a winning team should have nothing to do with him being invited.  I also think they like to invite people who are already there for the weekend.

You mean 2nd in the East?

I think House gets invited, Allen gets snubbed.

Do you guys think Ray Allen would actually want to do it?  I know in the past he's turned them down on it.  He's already planning a trip for his family it seems like and we all know he's pretty big on family.

Yeah he won it in 2001.  I don't think he's been in it too often after that, but I'm not positive.

I think Rajon has a good chance to win this one. He is one of many great ball handlers presently..

Nelson just dislocated his shoulder last night.  I wonder if he'd be ready for the allstar game?  Could open up a spot for Rondo.

Did Chris Paul not want to do it? I know we said Deron Williams didn't want to.

traditionally with the skills competition, they have players who are already involved in all star weekend.  unless rondo is awarded an alternate spot, it isnt going to happen.

Nelson's got a torn labrum. He's almost definitely out for All-Star weekend.

This really sucks for the Magic. They could start Lee/Redick and give the ball handling duties to Hedo. He's pretty much their de facto ball handler/playmaker anyways. I was very surprised that he was snubbed for the AS game. I thought he deserved it more than Lewis.

TP cuz Hedo is way more deserving than Lewis. Lewis seems more like a fan favorite for whatever reason, but Hedo is the go-to-guy in 4th quarter situations. Plus he has the most experience. I would love to see Hedo in Boston next year if possible.
And with Jameer hurt, I would expect Rondo to be next on the list(I don't know why Nash isn't here with it being Phonenix?)
