I read on RealGM that D-Will declined an offer to participate in the Skills Challenge during All-Star Weeekend. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/56797/20090124/deron_wont_defend_skills_title/

I wonder if Rondo will be a participant. I think he'd do well in it, considering he's so fast and he can pass well. He might have trouble with the free throw, though.  ::) (I always wondered why he hasn't improved that. 60% is terrible for a point guard!)

Chris Paul will probably be in it. Maybe Rondo... Derrick Rose? Devin Harris? Jameer Nelson? Felton?

What do you guys think?

Don't the players have to hit a jumpshot?  That could get ugly.  He'd be great at the rest of it though.

Couldn't they just get rid of the skills challenge?
It's terribly boring.

He should be on the all-star team. He's out played Iverson, Harris, and the PG on Orlando. Might not be the best shooter but the all-star team is full of shooter. Rondo does everything else better than any of these other PGs.

I've never understood why they don't play a game of H-O-R-S-E.

that would be amazing.

Depends on what they do. The League likes to include every team as much as possible. Since the Celtics will almost certainly have 2, possibly have 3 all-stars, on the team I don't think he'll be asked.

Who knows, it'd be fun to see.

They announced the participants... too bad Rondo isn't one of them.

Harris, Rose, Nelson, Parker

Should be fun anyway, though.

Have you watched Rondo lately? He's knocking mid-range shots down pretty well.  It's not like he'd have to bomb a 3.

I like getting everyone we can rest, however.

It says Nelson, Parker, Rose, and Harris. It doesn't say anything about replacing Williams so I wonder if Rondo will get the chance.

Who else notices at the top of the page. All of Wests' starting 5 is smiling and everybody in Easts' looks like they're going to rip your head off.  ;D
