admit it...

You were disgusted when you laid my eyes on Glenn Davis at the beginning of the season. He looked fat, slow and sloppy. He gave you the impression that he did nothing to improve his game.

Fast forward to now...

Now you appreciate his big body for what he can do against the top big guys in the game like Ming and Howard. He's consistently disrupting their games on both ends of the court and he's toning up a bit too. He's losing some "Baby" fat, gaining muscle and maintaining around the same weight allowing him to still be effective against big and tall 5's. This of course happened as the season has been moving along.

And improvement?

Clearly he's worked hard on developing the technique and spacing to get that shot off and its money, to the tune of an extra $1 or $2 million this offseason I'm sure.

Don't get me wrong, I know you're not going to petition him to an all-star game. But he has progressed to the point you must acknowledge it.

Are you getting ahead of yourself?

well a lot of people including myself were wrong about how much Scal could contribute that the beginning of this season.

Sure some people were wrong about Big Baby too.

It wont be the last time people on the internet, including you my friend, will be wrong about someone in professional sports.  Thats why coaches and management get paid what they do and also why were just on the internet talking about it.

I think you took me the wrong way... I'm writing this letter to myself. ;)

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
My exact quote earlier in the year is "Glen Davis is the more talented player, but Leon Powe is better right now"

I still stand by that.

Part of me feared that this thread was going to be about a quote that I had knocking Baby's jump shot....

I'm relieved it wasn't

i'll say it right now. BBD is better then Powe in every faze of the game... Offensively (its not even close), Defensively (he did well against shaq, howard, and yao in the preseason) Intensity, and he's got the personality to make him a fan favorite. i love the kid.

Thats where i was at last fall as well. I also said if Baby doesn't pass Leon this year, we should get rid of him... Looks like Baby is going for it!! Now, I'd say Baby is more valuable to the team, and the better player. He's tapping into that potential.

Face it guys, we are so fickle that if Baby has a couple of bad games and Powe comes up big against a quality opponent in a big win a lot of posts will change. I don't like pitting the two against each other because I think both will be very important to us this season.
