I think the Celtics are pushing real hard right now to get Doc the gig.  It wouldn't surprise me if it was one of their mini-goals.

I'm sure Doc wouldn't mind some time off, but I'm also sure that he'd be more than willing to let Lebron play 48 minutes in Phoenix ;D

Doc coached last year so I don't think he is in the running because I am pretty sure a coach can't go to the all star game twice in a row.

You are correct Sir, they changed it some time ago after Pat Riley coached 1,287 all-star games in a row.

yea, doc's out do to the two in a row rule.

I think stan van gundy should get the nod, or mabey brown.

woodson is also a good pick.

Isn't it the coach with the best record at the break?

I don't think it's the break but there is definitely a cutoff date close to it.  Coach of the team with the best record in the conference unless they did it the prior year.  So I'm guessing Mike Brown will get the nod this year for the East although SVG would have a shot.

  • The good ole days.
To clarify for all you...

The Eastern Conference All Star coach will be the coach of the team with the best record, as of February 1, not including the previous year's coach (as many have correctly mentioned).

Phil already clinched in the West because of the Lakers lead.
